How can I make this C-class deal better?

Have been working on this deal for a couple of weeks now. Progress just stalled a little bit so I wanted to see if I can get some ideas on how to sweeten the deal.

Thoughts:

  1. I would maximize the MSDs (haven’t brought that up to the dealer yet) and would pick autopay to minimize the money factor.
  2. After reading some of the other threads on MB leasing, the Acquisition fee should be negotiated down to $795 (not $1095). Also, the document fee should be waived.
  3. Trying to go for $0 driveoff
  4. Can the license fee be negotiated down from $690?
  5. Are there any other rebates that I could be eligible for? I’m a recent PenFed member (5-6 days, not 60 as some have suggested).
  6. What else can I do?

Pretty sure that MF is marked up. Good luck getting the doc fee waived.

Should be able to get the doc fee to around $100

agreed completely on the MF. that and the MSDs are my last planned steps of the negotiation.

Why would you wait til the end to negotiate the MF? That and the cap cost are things that should be negotiated first.

first time hacking a lease. how do i approach the lowering of the money factor?

Simply tell them you won’t deal on a marked up money factor and to bring it down. Edmunds says it should be .00121 this month for a C300 sedan.

What is the license fee? Is that a state/county fee? If so you can’t negotiate that. But like always, you should verfiy that it’s legit. Your state’s DMV website should tell you what registartion/license fees are for any given vehicle.

Also why is there an adjusted residual? Is this a demo? If it’s under 3K miles there should be no adjusted residual value.

It has about 5000 miles on it

MF is marked up, base is 0.0108 or 0.0121, i dont quite remember. After 10 MSDs, MF should be very low. acq. fee should be $795, marked up too. I would suggest walk away from this dealer if you are not that into this car, and only 20% off MSRP for a very base 2017 demo c300.

thank you all for the feedback. i was making some basic errors on first time leasing. lesson learned. dealer wouldn’t budge so I scrapped the deal.
