How bad is this BMW M240i xDrive deal?

, ,

Hi - I have an offer on a BMW M240i xDrive. How much harder should I push?

MSRP: $57,755
Discount: -$2,500
Doc fee: $999
Prep fee: $700
Total: $56,954.

They said invoice is $54,455.

I thought we were close but then they mentioned the prep fee out of nowhere. Planning to go in person Tuesday or Wednesday to finish negotiations. This is in New Jersey.

Car is Vegas red metallic with black interior.

OPTION PACKAGES
PREMIUM PACKAGE Adaptive Full LED Lights, Universal Garage-Door Opener, Live Cockpit Pro w/Head-Up Display, Heated Steering Wheel, Automatic High Beams, ACTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, LUMBAR SUPPORT, REMOTE ENGINE START, SHADOWLINE PACKAGE M Sport Brakes w/Red Calipers, M Sport Package Pro, sprint function and rear spoiler in black, M Shadowline Lights.

In stock or custom build?

This is a really weak deal.

I can do 11% off MSRP plus any incentives you qualify for.

Doc fees are $330 and no other prep fees or anything.

my broker fees are $699 for 2 series.

Then move on from this dealer.

Why waste your time negotiating in person?

What’s your target monthly?

Thank you for the replies.

This in stock – a showroom model. It’s here: 2025 BMW 2 Series M240i xDrive Coupe in Kenvil, NJ | BMW 2 Series | BMW of Roxbury

Not sure on target monthly – just want to make sure I get the most off I can. Was actually leaning toward doing Select financing since I want to do trade-in and put some money down.

Select financing means you will be upside down for the entire length of the loan. Doesn’t Select require you to refinance the balloon regardless of how much the vehicle is worth when the ballon payment is due?

Won’t be upside down with trade-in and down payment. Yes, would have to refinance to keep car — or pay off in cash. But also can sell/trade, and since it’s an M240i, won’t be hard to do. I don’t drive much, so I expect to beat residual if I can keep in good condition. See pros and cons.
