Honda Odyssey Sport Swap Lease trade

If there’s no contract or deal funded, you technically are not the owner/leasee of this vehicle. If you don’t sign a new contract, how can they make you keep this vehicle?

I did sign the new contract but Honda hasn’t processed it yet

You are already trying to sell it?

Whatever you are being told, there is no way HFS has a valid lease agreement (the revised one) but hasn’t processed it after more than a month. This thing was RDR’ed in September.

Yes it’s not worth it for me it might be good for someone else

If there is no account at HFS, good luck trying to transfer it.

I think you need to figure out everything else before trying to unload this. Also, that payment is going to be a hard sell on this forum for an Odyssey.

So I’ve only skimmed this thread, but, if I had supposedly leased a vehicle several wks (or several mos) ago w/ apparently no official documentation of the transaction, I would be calling Honda Financial, rather than posting on an internet forum.

@moderators, is there really any point in keeping the thread open until the OP calls Honda Financial to clarify? Until then, it seems like it’s just going to be a lot of guessing.

@Mark26 - Did you call Honda Financial Services today? What did they say?

This does not make much sense. What was the explanation given by HFS? Did the dealer share a copy of the signed contract with you? If not, you should ask for a copy ASAP. Feel free to post here and redact any personal info.

So you have not made any payments? I would recommend checking your credit report for any late payments.

You expect the dealer to be making payments on your behalf? Makes no sense.

Did you ask them whether they sent the revised contract to HFS? If I were in your shoes, I would do this (see below).

Waiting for OP to address these questions.

What’s your buyout for the lease?

I’ll answer all your questions

  1. Spoke to HFS they don’t have anything about this car in their system

  2. Dealer claims that HFS did receive it 2 days ago but it wasn’t yet processed

  3. Dealer is paying and they said they spoke to HFS and I was told it won’t affect my credit

  4. Yes I have a copy of the revised contract, but it was sent in more than a month ago

Not yet sure actually but I’m assuming around 40k

Is OP NJRonbo’s relative?

I have reached out to OP about sharing a copy of the contract.

If the contract was re-signed a month ago but only sent to HFS this weekend, it tells me everything I need to know about dealer’s finance staff.

Might not be a bad idea to turn on some sort of credit monitoring so you have a flag in case anything gets reported, whether a new line etc.

I can’t disagree with that. If I were OP, I would not have waited 3 months to ask internet strangers how to resolve a fairly straightforward issue.
