Honda Odyssey Sport Swap Lease trade

Yep, dealer probably made several K to 10K on this deal…what is that called in the industry? A jumbo or something? AND also paid overmileage…wow, just wow. OP, just close the book and never think about again…and use a broker on this site next time.

@forbs @jeisensc @TheBigTuna @mllcb42 Still waiting for Honda to get my contract, they still haven’t received it from the dealer and I haven’t paid any monthly lease yet, so basically when they do receive it, I will be required to pay the dealer for all the months they paid, is there any way I can fight them on this ?

What was the date you re-signed and re-submitted the paperwork? Is the account closed/paid for the Odyssey you traded-in?

You’ll owe HFS (the bank), not the dealer. Your lease technically started the day you drove this mistake off the lot.

If for some reason they ask you to sign again, give them the car and keys, and demand a check for the trade.

For the old car everything is paid off, but the new car, I signed early November and since the Honda dealer had a problem with their computer system, they never sent it to Honda Finacial, so they were paying my lease as of now

I learn from my mistakes, it’s after the fact now

Crazy how there’s an epidemic of problems with computer systems at dealerships at the least convenient time for the consumer.

I would call HFS directly, the dealer won’t care much of your credit gets dinged for no payments

What can I tell them

Any way you could help me out?

Lots of valuable info here.

@Mark26 - Have you done this? If not, I would do that today.

Explain this to them.

EDIT: There is not much else internet strangers can do for you. If HFS suggests reaching out to the dealer, I would drive there today so that you can resolve this issue ASAP.

Question: if I go down to the dealer and they agree to take back the car, would I loose out on all the taxes and down payment that I paid?

No because they would unwind the deal
Why would they do that? Unless they can’t get the contract to fund

It’s been already three months and they haven’t received the contract

And I spoke to the dealer and they are saying that they still won’t be able to take back the car

What you’ve told us , it’s been 3 months with no contract. If the dealer won’t give you a contract you have legal grounds for a lawsuit I believe
