Honda loyalty question

Looking to lease a Honda Passport. Currently lease an Acura, but dealer says I do not qualify for $1000 Honda loyalty rebate.

I know Acura waives turn-in fee on with a new “loyalty” lease of either Acura or Honda. And I think I have seen a Broker on LH state that Acura qualifies for Honda Loyalty rebates.

Anyone know the truth?

AFAIK , Honda loyalty rebates are direct to dealer and reflected in the selling price, it is not an actual taxable consumer rebate. So Honda dealers can play hide the weenie with them as they choose.

@mani_is_kool probably knows.

Yeah I have now received a quote from a different dealer who says I do qualify!
Thanks for the info!

In a similar vein, I believe Acura provides for a slightly lower MF for returning customers (.00215 vs .00225). Would Honda Financial Services also honor this loyalty MF discount for an Acura customer?
I would imagine this to be a HFS or AFS policy rather than dealer discretion.

Correct. Loyalty isn’t taxed. Others such as College grad are. Also, Acura doesn’t qualify for loyalty for a Honda lease so I am not sure what the other dealer is stating to OP.

Looks like on the passport, loyalty and conquest are both $1000, so they may just be processing it as a conquest incentive.

Acura doesnt qualify for conquest.
Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Subaru, Ford, Chevy, GMC, Jeep, Mazda and VW do however. Maybe OP has one of those in same household?

Also have a Buick lease, but the dealer who said I qualified specifically said I qualified for loyalty. He offered a decent discount,but said the loyalty was included, so actually just blowing smoke…

Well never mind my idea then.

That’s ok :slight_smile: he has a Buick in the household. So maybe since its a GM vehicle they are pushing it off as conquest. As long as OP is getting a good deal, its the dealers problem to make sure they are processing it properly.
