Honda Hrv lease monthly

Hello Hackrs,
I am looking for a Honda HR-V to lease in CT. I found a deal in the website but when I opened the deal details, I saw two numbers. One said “Monthly cost” and the other on the top said “Effectively” and has a different number than the monthly cost. Can anyone help me understand which is the actual number I pay towards the end? Thank you for your help in advance.

Let’s say your due at sign is $2,000 and your monthly is $400 your effective would be (2,000+(400x35))/36.

Thank you for the response. This really helps.
So, if my monthly with taxes is 336 and due at signing is 2425 then my final payout per month for lease will be (2425+(336x35))/36 = $395 ?

Yes, your effective monthly would be $395.

Thank you so much!

Good luck with your search. Some CT dealers are brutal, so you might get a better deal buying out of state. Have you checked out any of the broker pages in Marketplace to see how your deal stacks up? I know that @stellarauto , @AutoNinjas , & @Bostoncarconcierge regularly post Honda HRV deals. Have you looked into a CRV? It might not be that much more per month for a bigger, better equipped vehicle? Keep us posted on your progress!

Thank you for the recommendation. I will check with these guys. I new to the forum so i am still exploring. This is very helpful.
CT dealers are charging crazy amounts for small vehicles.

The first thing to understand about hacking is that you need to find a Hackable car in the first place.

The last time I checked, the Honda HRV was one of the most unhackable cars around: its cost of leasing is so much higher than its cost of ownership.

+1 @max_g - that’s what I was trying to say

@AbhiM - One of the great things about this website is the LeaseHackr Calculator. Plug your numbers into it and at the very bottom it will tell you what the LeaseHackr Score is in years. The higher the better. If the score is close to 5 years, then you are better off taking a 5 year loan out on the car rather than leasing it for 3 years.

ohh… This is good to know. i was also looking for a Hyundai Tucson and found this below deal. it said score as 7.1 years is this considered a good deal for lease?

One thing this site has taught me is that you can’t be picky when leasehacking.

Go through the Marketplace and see if there are any offers in the small SUV category. You may end up getting a much better car with the same monthly payment.

Also, avoid putting any money down in a lease. If you total it, you lose any money you put down.

No, that’s terrible. Look at the total lease cost instead of just the score. $15,000! Why would you ever spend that high of a percentage of a car’s price just to rent it for 3 years, return it and start over again?

The biggest incentives in this segment are the highly subsidized APR for financing such as 0% (VW), 0.9% (Mazda) and 1.99% (others).

That is one thing to consider. Another is the total lease cost. What is the MSRP on that vehicle? You are spending $15,128 to drive this car for 3 years.

Thank you the good help. The MSRP is $ 33500.

How much should be max percentage over the MSRP we can spend on vehicle? 15%? I got a deal on the Mazda Cx90 Phev 24 model with incentives for 416 per month. The due at signing is 3300 and leaser team is 33 months 12k miles. 416 is with taxes every month. The MSRP of the car is 59500. I am paying around 13728 for 33 months. Seems like a good deal?

A much better deal than anything on the HRV.

Post your best attempt at the LH calculator

That’s miles better than the other one. This car has been “leasehackd” in the past so there’s a good chance you can get a good deal on it if the incentives are there.

Ask multiple dealers for out of door price before any incentives and also check your quote and ask any add-ons from the dealer to be removed.
