I am returning a Honda CR-V and there were some bad marks which SGS (Honda Inspection Team) evaluated the damage to $1,000. I am satisfied with the evaluation, as the local shop provided an estimate around $1,800~2,000.

The SGS guy told me that Honda would provide max $500 waiver (as was told by other ppl in this forum), but SGS guy sounded like the $500 waiver is not for everyone. (He told me to not tell the dealership that I heard it from him.) He also said additional $500 will be waived if I renew with Honda.
I do not plan to renew the lease with Honda, but in this case will the $500 waiver be up to the dealership’s mood on the day I return the car? or can I assert the waiver?
