Higher End Luxury SUVs in socal (70k+msrp)

I see a few deals still to be had right now in the lower end vehicles (i.e. frontier, murano, bolt, wrangler 4xe if u can wait the 4 months).

Was wondering if anyone saw/obtained any higher end SUVs “Deals”? Received a letter home from local bmw x5 for 6k das + 795/month (66kmsrp). Laughed at it, then checked LH to see what it would look like thru here, and it’s actually worse lol.

$1 below MSRP can be considered a deal for those cars under current market conditions…

What model? X5?

Have you looked at broker deals in the “Marketplace”?

X5 yes. and i have looked at the broker deals in marketplace. I’m seeing worse numbers. Basically shaving down the das to 2500 brings the monthly to around 900/month before taxes. I’m seeing 900+ here on LH broker deals in marketplace. I see some close ones, but nothing that really beats it , which was a big surprise to me considering the local dealer isn’t known for deals.

yeah 1k below msrp aint bad

6k das - $2500 = $3500
$3500 ÷ 36 months = $97.2

So looking at the deal you shared, bringing the DAS to $2500 increases the payment to ($795 + $97) $892 (which is close to $900).

FWIW, don’t expect any deals on luxury SUVs for a few reasons:

  1. Dealers are not offering much in discounts, given the current market.
  2. Not much in manufacturer incentives.

What is the MSRP of the car with that monthly? Is it pre or post tax?
You should be focussing on the discount % off MSRP when comparing deals.

I said $1…

When I bought my Lexus at MSRP last month, I was thinking about asking for a $1 discount so I could brag about paying less than MSRP. I did not bring it up, but I did receive a check from the dealer for $2 last week for a DMV overpayment.

The lease “deals” range from bad to worse.

You’re better off financing a Lexus RX, Genesis GV80 or Porsche Cayenne.

No.

Or perhaps an X5 45e. I think those are pretty easily available at MSRP plus still has the federal tax credit.

Not exactly luxury per se, but a Grand Cherokee is fairly upscale for a mainstream brand. Could order a gas or 4xe one.

Yeah a x5 45e at msrp does sound pretty good. Not sure i’ve seen them anywhere in the marketplace for socal, but will reach out to brokers to see if anyone can get that.

@BMW_Dave is a great dealer in SoCal. If you get lucky maybe you can snag a canceled order his dealer has coming in.

thanks for the tip, i’ll hit him up. I’m reading some posts about the x5 45e federal rebates not being passed onto lessees. Also looks like not eligible for cvrp rebate, making this not an attractive lease if both of these things are true.

In this market, you dont want to lease but buy, esp EVs and PHEVs. Thats the nature of the game unfortunately. See my other thread here:

Also, every dealer I’ve talked to in CA is offering X5e at MSRP for custom builds, with wait times of 4-5 months. Althu every single one of them is charging a mark-up on the interest rate if you finance thru BMW, so you are better of getting your own financing or get a balloon loan from a third party
