High Miles - 30k/ year - best options?

as the title states, I’ll be driving 30000 miles a year. What are my best options to stay in new-ish vehicles without breaking the bank?

I have a co-signer with excellent credit, id like to stay under 800/month.

The Ariya 18mo lease allows you to buy additional miles at $0.10 per mile. You would have to buy 20K extra per year, which works out to about $166/mo. Considering you can get an Ariya under $300/mo, you should be well within budget.

I’ve only got a 100 amp service at my house - is that compatible with a level 2 charger?

If this is work-related, how long do you think you will be driving that much?

Leasing might not be the best option for you, IMO. Why not finance a Japanese car instead?

Is $800 per month all in with gas & insurance? I’d say finance a Corolla Hybrid.

Most likely not

Finance a Japanese car as others have suggested. A Lexus ES CPO would work as well in the luxury category. You could go up to $38K all in purchase price at 8.99% for 5 years and payment would be less than $800/month. If you want shorter term or different rate, play around with rate and terms with a finance calculator online (LH calc has finance option too).

Buy a CPO Volvo with the 5yr unlimited mile warranty

The signature flex lease is available on any Nissan, you could do the same thing with an Altima or Rogue, payment maybe higher than Ariya but should still be under your ceiling.

A CPO Volvo PHEV to be exact.

If you don’t like Volvo’s coffee or service loaners, you will by the end of that warranty.

I haven’t had a single issue with mine and I have 50k miles on it after 26 months. I got it right when they went to the new extended range model back in 2022.

The only issues have been IHU related but the hybrid system itself has thankfully been rock solid. This being said I do love my dealer :joy:

Do 2 Ariya’s at 15k/yr and leave one plugged in all the time, even at level 1 it should charged up when the other one is depleted. Could probably get away with a lower amperage level 2 charger or share the dryer plug if it’s in a spot that’ll work. Really comes down to miles driven per day.
