I know some have been successful with high mileage leases.
Has anyone tried this recently?
I’m not seeing much in the forum on it. Probably 20-25k miles annually.
Prefer 3 row suv.

Most 3 row suvs aren’t leasing well to begin with.
Most lease contracts cap at 15k, some at 18k, and you can always buy additional miles.
But in all the specific cases you care about, you need to do the math and consider how long you’ll be driving it after the warranty has expired?
And then look at financing CPO, especially on the brands whose CPO warranties only have time (no mileage) cap.
GM leases max 25k miles per year. After 15k miles it’s residualized and prepaid at $0.20 cpm.
Your best bet is to find one on swapalease. There are plenty of cars that are under miles because of covid
Would getting a swap a lease every 18 months be a reasonable solution to high mileage driving?
Are there extra fees/registrations etc with this that could really add up? I’m not very familiar with swap a lease.
Transfer fees (~ $100-$600 depends on the car make) . registration( first and second year already paid if you swap right after the first year mark) and tires (you lose some tire tread that previous lease used). you lose free maintenance with BMW. that’s all I can think off
No it’s only a solution right now because covid and people being under miles. Not really sure what a long term solution is. Driving that much a year is going to cost you a lot of money no matter what way you do it.
If you drive that much, leasing might not be financially smart.
Not sure if this will fit Your lifestyle but if You are on limited budget I would consider leasing for example 2019 Hyndai Sonata Plug in Hybrid with high incentives and buy it out at anytime during the lease.
I used to be in a position where I drove 25-30k miles a year. Trick is to find a leasing company that has the lowest per mile deduction over the standard 15k miles. In the past I found Lexus and Infiniti were adding $.10 per mile when you set it up in the beginning. Most others are $.20 and some go higher. Once you do the research you will find that a high mile lease is the way to go once you find the best combination of incentives, RV, MF and overage charges. A 2 year old car with 60,000 miles on the clock is not a good re sale vehicle so you are way better off dropping it off and walking away after a lease.
If you are in California you can lease a Fuel Cell car (Honda clarity or Toyota Mirai ) with 20k miles /year and free gas
This sounds ideal for me. I am having trouble finding what the prepaid mileage rates are now.
I also wonder why more people don’t do this?
I could do a qx60 or rxl but not sure if either leases great right now.
The QX60 is a gas hog and the third row in the RXL is useless.
You might be better off getting a proper 7-seater for family use and a high MPG car for commuting/business
Mdx doesn’t look too bad on gas and they just said mileage is .10 prepaid and 50% up to 30k is forgiven if I lease again at lease end.
That seems like a good deal to me?
will they make this statement as part of lease contract, or is it just dealer speak…
It’s part of the Acura Loyalty Advantage program, but it’s 50% up to 7500 miles, not 30k.
Yeah if clearly need to see the 30k in writing…
In that case, it would make sense to at least pre purchase 20k miles for 2k I guess.
