Can anyone share from experience hidden fees that dealers have tried to charge which aren’t required? I have heard of dealers trying to charge for VIN etching or certain maintenance fees. I want to know what to look out for when reviewing an invoice at the dealership.
Millions of them (not literally). Anything other then standard title, registration, acquisition, etc. is junk, including dealer’s fee (but you’ll have to pay it).

Title/registration/lien fees
Dealer doc fee (not legally required, but every dealer charges it). They won’t drop it, so try to negotiate an additional amount off equal to the doc fee.
(For leases): lease acquisition fee
Anything else is pure profit for the dealer.
