I am sure some of you have come across this story.
Not sure how you can rack up that many miles in one month, unless you were doing rideshare. Anyway, the contract stated unlimited miles so good thing Hertz HQ stepped in.
I saw this. It is crazy 25K in a month. Even ride share isn’t possible to do 25K lol
Maybe they drove around the country just for the heck of it…lol
My money is on drug mule
It’s almost 1,000 miles…. Per day.
I guess sleep is overated…lol
The mileage is insane lol. How is that even possible.
I got a little nervous one time when I had a few thousand miles on like a two on a weekend rental.
Multiple drivers, 24Ă—7
Wonder how this will end up screwing average joes.
it’s a franchise, so the shop owner probably is going to take the L here…
How do you figure? How does Hertz potentially limiting “unlimited” program under 25k miles a month affect average joes?
Many average joes doing 1k miles a day?
This reminds of the story when someone went mudding with a u–haul truck lol.
insane miles but ultimately, unlimited is just that. I doubt this one off is going to impact average joe customers but may want to read the fine print lol
They will pass the costs of people abusing stuff like this to everyone, ie affecting normal folks.
People abuse stuff and it hurts everyone. No I don’t think you should be able to drive the car 1000 miles a day.
Did the guy change the oil in the middle of this? At minimum it would reasonable to argue that if you are going to put a massively massively disproportionate amount of miles on the car, you should be expected to maintain it as such. As in the oil should have been changed multiple times over this weird stunt.
Just another reason to not buy loaners or ex rental cars, you have absolutely no idea how the prior owners abused and failed to maintain them.
Product/service quality gets diluted all the time; not sure consumers are to blame.
CPO from BMW, MB, etc went from two years to one. Because of abuse or because FI managers wanted to upsell an additional one to two years? Free maintenance used to mean brakes and rotors. So service advisors went to town on that free lunch and it went away.
Doug Demuro said he never abused his carmax warranty but it’s smaller in scope now.
Guy is lucky, I’ve seen some “unlimited” mile/km rentals in Europe but fine print would say something like 500km per day on unlimited rental. But hey 'Merica!
