Help with sante fe quote - topic moved

I am sorry for all the questions. Could someone please help me understand why this quote is so high? I thought I had my calculations correct using the LH calculator. I checked my numbers to Edmunds numbers and mine were pretty close to Edmunds. I have done more calculations in the LH calculator and read more about leases than ever in my life. since this is the first time I’ve done so much work myself I’m not sure if my numbers are correct or if the dealers are correct.
I received this quote from a dealer and I don’t know where some of these numbers are coming from or why it’s so high??

This dealer offer could very well be correct but if someone could help me understand it I would appreciate it.
Any idea what the title and misc fees of 957.25 is? The tax is built into the monthly payment, correct?
We do pay 164.50 to license a vehicle in WI plus 85.00 for plates (unless we just renewed them)
Thank you for your help.
The RV 59 is and the mf is .00142 if that makes a difference. I got numbers 1/31 so I think they are still accurate.

Thank you!

I think you’re missing the quote.

No, we can’t possibly guess and you should know going in if those fees make sense and ask the dealer for a break down if you are unsure. It could be reasonable doc+title+acq fee, or it could be $57.25 of title and $900 of VIN etching.

I moved your topic to a separate thread to discuss and deleted your photo since it contained sensitive info. You’ll want to repost the picture with your personal info removed and share your calculator link so we can see if there’s an error.

Thank you! Here is my calculator. Leasehackr Calculator - Hack your next lease | Leasehackr

And here is the dealer quote.

Did the dealer confirm they are using the buy rate MF? Or confirm what MF they are using?

Also, it would be best to confirm the numbers again from Edmunds as programs change on a month-to-month basis. It could be the same, but who knows if regional incentives have changed :man_shrugging: Best not to assume especially in different months.

I did confirm the MF/RV with Edmunds and they are still accurate as of today. when I asked the dealer what MF they were using they have not responded back to me. That was a few days ago.

Sounds like they’re telling you to move on to a new dealer that will communicate.

Who would pay ~$500/month for a Sante Fe?

I’m guessing with $3250 in incentives on here, this is the outgoing sante fe as well.

I definitely won’t pay $500 a month for it. I specifically told him that when I responded to this quote and asked him for his MF. I was coming up with numbers far lower than this. Edmunds also shows the payments around 375-400. I had never used this calculator or submitted a deal this way( I just made my last deals off a payment. So I am trying to be smarter this time) I was using his quote to try to see if the numbers were making any kind of logical sense. I couldn’t figure out where they were coming from at all.
I just wanted to be sure I was entering everything correctly in the LH calculator. It appears that I am so I will send my own offer to a separate dealer altogether.

The discount you entered in the LH calculator, where did that come from?

Ignore the payments you’ve seen on Edmunds.

Good to know about the Edmunds payment quote. I wasn’t sure if they were accurate or not. Are you asking about the 3250 discount? If so, That’s what the rebate incentives are. I took the numbers on this specific calculator right off the dealer quote.

I pay 475 for a laramie 1500 and I have tier two credit. No expert but your money factor seems really high. I got mine through Costco, not a hacked deal.

Discounts and incentives are not the same thing. They are two very different things that go into two different fields in the calculator (entering the pre-incentive selling price into the calculator gets you the % discount).

But what made you select a Santa Fe out of so many fungible choices? If it doesn’t lease well, you’re looking at an uphill battle here.

I don’t have my heart set on a Santa Fe specifically. I have leased 2 Hyundai Sonatas previously but I want something with AWD this time because the Sonata is terrible in the snow. I looked at the 2020 Santa Fe to see if it may lease well. If not, that’s ok. I will look at something else.

The discount that I put on this calculator, I subtracted his $2900 in savings from the MSRP. I think that’s correct?? Because if you then subtract the 3250 which is the rebate you get to the bottom line selling price of 35,745.

I have top tier credit. I think that’s just HMF’s money factor. I got the numbers from Edmunds but I have had 3 other HMF leases and they all seem high to me.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong please.

The mf often varies by model and trim. If you asked Edmunds for the mf/rv/incentives for this trim for your zip and the dealer number matches, then it’s not marked up.

Most cars do not lease well. This is truer now than it has ever been.

So unless you are willing to push this boulder uphill, you need to look at other makes/models that lease better and offer more value per dollar.

Check out the “Share a Deal” and “Marketplace” sections of LH forums to see what’s leasing well and narrow down your search.

Thanks for the feedback surprising how two brands can be so far apart, I owned a Santa Fe. Great ride just not a 500 a month on lease in my opinion.
