Every $1000 of equity is like $26/mo less. Just depends what the dealer offers. They’re usually a little under the online companies but I can price it all for you.
I would get a check for the equity and just pay the higher monthly personally…but that’s your call
This is not accurate. You can for sure buy out the lease from Ally (assuming you have the capital and or some form of financing) but the caveat is you need to buy it from an authorized dealer. You would go into the dealer and they will write up a standard purchase agreement for your residual + taxes & registration fees.
was what in the contract? That you can buy out the lease or the additional fees? The residual is in the contract and the option to purchase. The sticky part with Ally is somehow they do not have a dealer license to sell vehicles in Massachusetts so they have to funnel buyouts via their authorized dealer networks. I only this because I have been trying since Nov to buy out an existing Ally lease but my purchasing dealer was ducking me. I finally had the case escalated within Ally and someone who seemed to know clued me in. The contract doesnt state anything about how one purchases at lease buyout. Ally will provide two numbers one for you the lease holder and one for a dealer.

Hey Tim, I am currently in same situation. I sent check for purchase option end of Dec which Ally cashed but I never received title or release of lien. Called today for the 5th time and was told they were not supposed to accept that from Mass resident and I would have to do that through dealer but dealer claims they don’t know what Ally is talking about. Wondering how you resolved things. Thank you
