This is something I obviously overlooked when signing the lease on a JGC Overland from a Maryland-based Jeep dealership last year:
Apparently, my monthly lease payment does NOT include sales tax - even though my understanding was that it did, since I was a Virginia resident at that time.
I discovered this only after going to the California DMV (moved here last month) and having follow up conversations with Chrysler Capital Financial Services.
My main question is : Is this even possible?! As in, to lease a car and not be charged for sales tax. What I overlooked was that Sales Tax in the contract is marked “N/A”.
Please advise - any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.
