Help - my first lease GLE43 AMG Coupe

So here is what the dealer is quoting me initially:

Location: North California

2017 Mercedes GLE43 AMG Coupe
MSRP: $81,085
Discount: $500
Price: $80,585 <— not negotiated yet

Lease terms:
36 months/12k miles
MF: 00249
RV: 56%
MSDs up to 10

Dealer is saying the MF is high due to car being AMG and no deals available for it. This does not sound like a good deal at all or is it what the standard MF is going for these days for these cars?

Also, any idea how much I can/should negotiate the price down? My other option would be to go for BMW X5 which would be much cheaper.

Any help/tips would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Try to get the right mf and residual via edmunds or here posting in the mf and rv section. Seems high the mf. In addition, that discount is miniscule but since it is a lower volume car not sure if you can gain any tips on selling price here. Maybe try the benz forums as well?

With laughable discount, high MF and low RV, it would make for a terrible lease. Even a GLS550 with AMG Package (higher MSRP) might be cheaper. I’d look at that or an X5.

This is your first lease? That’s like saying I am learning to swim in the Bermuda triangle!

A GLE 43 is going to lease poorly. Purchase with a loan might be more advantageous.

Thanks folks. I agree with discount being non-existent but since I havent even started negotiating the price with the dealer yet. The MF stopped me on my tracks before even getting to that.

I’ll also post in MB forum to get an idea. Out of curiosity, is it because GLE43 a low volume car and that is why it would lease poorly compared to an AMG GLS with higher MSRP?

Thanks!

My advice would be to call around and talk to fleet managers. My experience with Merc is that they make the best deals.
