Help me Target an Audi Q4 e-tron WA State Lease 36/10

,

Hello - I am shopping for a lease on a Q4 e-tron in Washington State.

36 month
10k miles/year

I saw on the Edmunds forum:
Residual = 57%
MF = .00206
Lease Cash = 7500
Costco = 1000

Most the local dealers are giving me quotes that are much more expensive than the pre-negotiated California deals. It seems as though the WA dealers are marking up their MF. What do you all think is achievable in WA State?

Thanks!

What is your target deal you’re trying to achieve?

You are missing an important item, discount, are you saying they are going $0 off MSRP?

Several sellers in the Marketplace in WA for BMW.

You’d save yourself a lot of headache and arguably get a superior product.

I was trying to replicate one of the nor-cal deals I found that was pre-negotiated. I think that deal expired yesterday. It was a 36mo/7.5k. I am new to leasing and leasehackr. I read the wiki, looked through “SIGNED,” and wasn’t sure how good the deals can be in WA State

Thanks for the note. I haven’t begun negotiating with the local dealers yet. I just see their initial offers. In general, they are discounting about 9.5% off MSRP but they seem to be marking up the money factor.

A trend I noticed is 50 BP of MF translates to 900-1000 of discount

Thanks max_g - I checked the marketplace and only saw one or two brokers with Audi in WA State. They are cheaper than the initial offers from the local dealers - but not as cheap as the “pre negotiated” deals from leasehackr.

In general - does California seem to get better lease deals than WA State?

I’m reaching but do you qualify for the 9k rebate?

Hi forbs - can you please clarify - I want to make sure I understood your post correctly:

Are you saying that if a dealer is offering $1000 off, they often will bump their money factor by 50 basis points to compensate?

-or-

Are you saying “as a rule of thumb, think of 50 basis points of money factor as being roughly equivalent to 1000 dollars”

2nd, if they mark it up 50 points on you then they are making ~$1000, so they could ‘graciously’ discount it $1000

My last deal they gave me $1500 and marked it up 50 points, so I really got $500 off from them.

Depends on the brand. At first glance BMW deals in WA seem quite competitive. For other brands maybe the delta is greater. Ofc any savings out of a California seller are mitigated by the cost and inconvenience of shipping.

Have not really looked at Audi since all their and VW BEV launches have been plagued with problems starting with the 2019 Etron then the ID4 then the Etron GT. I have test driven the Q4 Etron and came away not too impressed. The best dynamic quality of a BEV is a low center of gravity and feeling planted. It misses that badly. TLDR: It needs to be priced at or only slightly above a Tesla model Y if they really want to move these things. At or close to the price of a IX its no contest. The Q4 loses every time.

You won’t be able to match these deals in the WA State. Dealers here won’t play ball, which has a lot to do with the region’s significant wealth, anti-competitive local legislation, and monopoly-like local market.

You will have more success in the Portland area or driving the car up north from California.

Seattle Audi will play ball if you have a competing offer. They won’t match it but they’ll come close

Go to Portland for the best deal. It’s a fun day trip. But I’m not sure if a Portland dealer can apply a WA state EV incentive. They can certainly register the car in WA for you.

For a 36 month lease term, .0002 markup ~= 1% of msrp mark up, so that adds up around right for ~$40-50k msrp vehicles

Thank you for your thoughts - both on BMW deals and your EV comparison!

From what I’ve seen, a BMW iX will cost significantly more. I actually like all of these cars for different reasons (iX, Q4 e-tron, VW ID.4 Pro AWD, Tesla Model Y).

I have noticed this over the years here - it seems like both dealers and private party deals are better priced out of portland. Thanks for confirming. I am new to leasehackr so it is good to hear this information directly.

sidzart - In your experience, have you found Audi Seattle to be the best priced (among University Audi, Audi Bellevue, Audi Tacoma)?

How much would you save on the Q4 compared to an IX deal like this?

2025 iX xDrive50 ($95xxx MSRP)
-Black Sapphire on Black Sensatec
-Sport Package w/ 21" Wheels, Convenience Package, Drive Assist Pro
-36/7500 lease
-$3000 driveoff
-$719/mo+tax (no MSDs)
-$689/mo+tax (w/ 4x MSDs)*

*Quotes are based on Tier 1 credit approval with BMW FS and include the $9900 rebate. EV Conquest adds $1k rebate (saves ~$30/month). NorCal Dealer. NOT INCLUDING YOUR REG/PLATES OR SHIPPING FROM NorCal. Ends 9/3/24! $599 broker fee.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Yes, the BMWs look like more car for the money. I think an iX still ends up being several thousand more over the 3 year lease though.

Here is an example of a typical Washington dealer quote prior to any negotiation. It still has “protection” add ons and a marked up money factor. Note that these numbers include all taxes and registration.
