Help! Lease deals in VA

Hello!

Been reading and learning for about a year about leasing!

Most deals seem to be from CA but it seems east coast doesn’t get that much love (see few from Boston and New Jersey area).

I’m a noob honestly as it’s my first time trying to lease but was wondering what would be my first step besides picking a car.

Also, any advantage of trading in my current car (2014 Accord EX-L V6 with a loan out) to Honda? Or even Acura?

Any VA dealers here?

Thanks in advance!

There are a ton of deals in NJ, NY area. Many BMW, Mercedes deals In NoVA and MD as well. Read through the forum to see what leases well and get a quote from Carmax to see how much (if any) negative equity you have on your Honda. To see if there are Virginia dealers, look through registered dealers and brokers. The resources are all here, but you need to find them and use them

Roger that, thanks for the reply.

Anyone from NoVA area share with me your experience and recommendations?

Just read the heck out of the forums. Get strategies and game plan. There are plenty of us in the NoVA area, but it’s helpful if you have more targeted questions. See what cars/brands you’re looking for, budget, incentives that apply. If time is on your side, do plenty of research. Email dealers to get an idea. There’s enough info on the forum to get a good deal. Just have to put in some hours. Hit us up when you’ve made some progress.

Is there any particular reason you want to lease a car vs keep your current one or buy another one?

Yup! Absolutely! And thank you for your post.

I think I’ve spent about 100 hours or so reading through a lot of the topics and love looking at the “trophy” section too haha… get motivation! I’ve only purchased a car new once (‘07 S2000 and the ‘14 Accord) and every other car before and in between has been used through Craigslist under $10k!

My budget is about $300 or so per month including all fees and tax. None of the military or recent college grad incentives apply to me.

I’ve read up on edmunds stuff on leasing and I’ve been looking through what rebates each carmaker has been given out as well… but none seems to be $0 down.

But yes, I’ll keep looking and once I pick some cars I’m leaning towards then I’ll hit up the dealers and report back here.

Mainly I just wanted some local people’s thoughts and advice in NoVA area… just for any tips or “contact so and so who took care of me”

You don’t even know what cars you consider, but expect dealer contacts?

Leasing has always been my goal for my next car journey ever since I’ve joined this forum and now the time has come since fiancé and I work very close to each other! Carpool!

On top of that, the Accord got broken into (along with 4 other Honda cars in our condo covered garage) and the driver airbag was stolen last week. It’s in the shop now and once we get it back it’s time to sell private or trade it in. It’s really sad and disappointing cause it’s a gated garage with limited access but with no cameras.

Anyways, long story short we have less miles to drive to work and I have other cars handy, ready to get rid of the Accord, and always wanted to start leasing and experience that.

Well I didn’t know how many (or active) VA residents were on this forum and so wanted to know if anyone would perhaps recommend a representative to speak to maybe? I went about it more thinking I wanted to speak to local members with experiences with local purchases.

That’s why I asked for suggestions and help.

But I know where to start now, and I’ll be back after picking few cars vs. just putting out a vague help request.

Well I know the BMW dealers in the NoVA area pretty well, not so much others. If you so happen to find some comparable whips in that price range, let me know. But sounds like you need to hone in one what kind of car you want and see the type of deals people are getting on them – you know – SUV, sedan, electric… etc. VA taxes on selling price so you’ll get hit hard on the front end with taxes.

Yeah I think I’m open to suv’s around x1/x3 size or 4 door sedans like any 3 series. I think I’m more concerned with the monthly payments (or how much I’ll end up paying once term is done) vs what car I pick.

I’m going to play around with the leasehackr calculator and put in some numbers to see what selling price will give me $300 ish monthly with tax included

Don’t even bother wasting your time playing around with numbers for get to $300 a month on an X1 or X3. It ain’t happening. Consider getting a Q50

I don’t understand how you can do 100 hours of research on here/Edmunds, but then make that statement. Rebates have nothing to do with structuring a lease deal with $0 down.

Please don’t forget when considering a lease you also have to most likely get maximum coverage on insurance.

Yes, thanks for the reminder

I guess 2018 math is 3~100?

I meant it in terms of just browsing around to see if any carmaker were giving out $0 down programs AND to see what sort of rebates are available. I know it’s not tied together but I’m just researching everything associated with leasing.

I’m just asking for helpful tips… and also like I said, thought maybe see if NoVA residents could possibly chime in since all the deals and research I’ve seen are mostly in Cali.

Haha really?

I read without logging in since it’s usually on my phone

If you done research on here, then you should know that all manufacturer ads/deals are terrible.

Yup they are… so that’s why I decided to ask for help… but instead some of you guys seems to be telling me I don’t know anything and so shouldn’t post anything here.

Thanks for your feedbacks and I’ll come back I guess once I get some numbers.

It’s hard to become and an “expert” without asking questions y’all know? Gotta start somewhere!

Thanks all, cheers!
