Help: After 35 days, no VW Credit Account, no registration

Hey Folks,

I purchased the ID4 from a CT VW dealer and leased through VW credit 35 days ago. The CT temp plate has expired, and not able to extend the temp plate. Called VW credit every day, but no accounts were created by searching at VIN/SSN. However, the dealer mentioned VW Credit received the documents 16 days ago. So I can’t drive the car, and also can’t pay off the lease. Besides, already pass the first payment due date, dealer said it’s fine but I don’t trust them.

Filed a VW Corporate complaint already, regional case manager is not responsive. Also filed BBB compliant, no update yet.

What would you recommend?

well, I would say ‘you wait’, and hopefully they send the docs back and you can return the car for free

Driving with expired temps is generally not fine.

If the dealer thinks so, I would just ask their GM to indemnify you for any bad outcomes.

Can you elaborate more on what docs they’ll send it back and how to return the car fee?

This is my first lease

The dealer knows I can’t drive the car legally.

They said they’ll send a dealership plate out on Tuesday, tracking was created yesterday and it hasn’t been picked up by FedEx as of today. Called them earlier, and they said Fedex had it.

This dealer has super flawed operations where each individual step could go wrong and no one notices it (unless the customer caught it).

Leave a 1 star review on google. They’ll blow up your phone real quick. :slightly_smiling_face:

Call the dealer today and tell them you’re calling the state on Monday, then do it. Carvana got fined/banned by several states for this stuff. Find out ahead of time which office is in charge of consumer protection in your state.
