Iâm glad I bumped on your post, Iâm having to go through the same process as you. My Disco has stalled on busy roadways multiple times with family sitting inside. As we speak the vehicle is sitting in repair shop for the 5th time. Dropping you a DM @bayrrowner7
Major issues here in New Orleans. 2025 Defender 130, bought Jan 2025. 1500 miles.
-Two months in walked out one morning, huge pressure crack in the windshield. Just sitting in the driveway. Part back ordered.
-One month later, broke down on the side of the ride in rural hot a$$ Mississippi. Wouldnât accelerate, wouldnât turn over. Had a hell of a time getting it in neutral just to get it on the tow truck!
-they concluded it was fuel pump module. Had it 2 day shipped. Didnât
fix.
-Next decided it was something with the main computer. Had to order a part from the UK. Took a week and then they took several days before they even tried to see if it worked. Nope. Turns over but wonât start.
-next ordered a fuel pump, again had to have it 2 day shipped. Still not working. They took apart the entire fuel tank. Still not working, need a new fuel tank and now learned the fuel tank is on back order, no delivery day insight.
The JLR dealership has completely stopped communicating with me with the exception of the service contact who only gives me updates when I call/email constantly.
We hit 45 days in 5 days. This has absolutely been a horrific experience not to mention the car cost over 90k and itâs our FOURTH Land Rover. Weâve been so loyal to the brand. I feel completely powerless.
The operating principle of a JLR dealership is Stockholm Syndrome imo. And one-sided loyalty is completely pointless. Sorry you had to find this out the hard way.
Without question! The impression of elite customer service/care is a facade at best. What is your recommendation? Do I contact a LA lemon attorney?
Final update on my P550e. I emailed my contact at JLR and told him to remove the clause in the release agreement that waived my right to future compensation and he agreed. I had a lemon lawyer review the updated agreement, and they said it was solid. I sent everything in about three weeks ago and was told the check would be FedExed to me within the next week or so.
Overall, dealing with JLR directly wasnât too bad. Iâm glad I handled it myself instead of going through a lawyer. The attorney I consulted even said I did a solid job, of course he added that he might have gotten me a bit more. But Iâm happy with the amount I negotiated.
If anyone reading this is dealing with a similar issue with JLR, feel free to DM me. Iâm happy to share the full process and timeline.
Without a doubt
So basically the attorney said he could have gotten you more money for less trouble?
Did i read that correct?
Plus lemon law attorneys typically get paid by the manufacturer, so it wouldnât even cost anything to OPâŚ
Enjoy your RR C&K Settlement check. I hope this is the end of your problems.
100% yes if you have not already based on Maxâs recommendation.
My jaguar got bought back in June through Morley. Was a longish process but it was fine overall. Gotta find another car now.
