Hackable Vehicles

,

Newbie here, I have been looking at all the categories and can’t seem to find anything about this. I keep seeing people say “first you need to find a hackable vehicle” Well how do you know or find out what the hackable vehicles are??

I live in Maine, and I know there aren’t as many great deals as there are in other parts of the country but hoping to find a deal on something, just trying to find out where to begin. Also, i’m not looking for an EV which seems to be the majority of the deals on here.

Thanks for your help!

No, you keep hearing this literally from one person and you need to move on from it.

  1. Narrow your choices down to 5 ICE vehicles that you like and can live with, or better yet actually enjoy. Cheap does not mean you will be happy.

  2. Research the deals you see here on those vehicles, on Edmunds and elsewhere if you can.

  3. Determine the length of lease and miles you need, your monthly budget and check your insurance costs as well.

  4. If you aren’t comfortable engaging with a dealer just yet, see what brokers on here service Boston and New England for the vehicles you like. Reach out to them for a reality check and keep in mind that you can always ship a car as well.

  5. Use a broker for a deal (see #4) or start sending out a realistic target offer via email to dealers around you and New England.

  6. Find your deal and pull the trigger.

Good luck!

LOL, you keep seeing the same member post that in every thread.

Everyone is different and have different reasons for the vehicles they choose.

Some people will drive something they hate just to say they got it for xxx.xx

Start with what brokers in your area are offering vehicles you like for to get a baseline of target pricing. Then read some more here.

There are some hybrids but beyond that very little choice.

Beyond an non-EV what else do you need?

New guy here and this is probably a really dumb question but… what’s the best way to find a broker on here for my area?

Click on Marketplace and then select your region or state.

Well my husbands Nissan Titan’s lease is up in November and we are looking for another truck lease deal. We really loved this Titan but since they don’t make them anymore now we are looking for another great deal on something. I know Truck deals are hard to find but looking for one with $0 DAS.

Check out @Jrouleau426, who I think had some decent Toyota trucks posted.
