Hack best deal on GX 550?

This is also not a cheap lease, even with a decent discount. Beautiful ride though. Would take that over the GX any day

New gen is a shared platform - best bet for the money is a TRD Off-Road Hybrid Max 4Runner

Or you could lease a QX80 with air ride for $600!!!

My store in NY is at 3k off luxury or 1k off prem. not plus tho. PM for details if, and only, if you want to do it.

Interior and tech is absolute trash fwiw.

Take a look at a CPO BMW X7. You won’t find a better ride or interior.

Volvo, by far.

Saw one of them the other day, and the older GX model looks much better and more luxurious now; all the new Lexus models look so basic with plastic everywhere, except the LX600, which costs more than any other full-size SUV.

TBH I really can’t think of any interior that really “wows” me unless you start getting into adding all of the interior options on the X7 or GLS or Cayenne, etc.
In the last 5 years I’ve had 2 current generation X5s, an Infiniti QX80, and a Mercedes GLE (current) and out of those I prefer the X5. My ‘20 was a base model with few options and my ‘22 was an MSport. I preferred the MSport over the base and I think the X5 interior quality is better than the GLE. My GLE has lots of creeks and plasticy sounds when you handle the doors or console area. Not the tanks MB used to be.

Still the same problem… you look at a $100k X7 or GLS and you wonder “is this worth $100k?”

I get it, even those $100k rigs don’t always seem like they are worth that kind of money.

The GX is a better vehicle for the price to me than the LX600.

I liked the GX but I was scared off by the engine issues in the Tundra and the same windshield phobia I have with the G63. Plus it’s kinda redundant to have both vehicles at the same time in my opinion.

My neighbor liked the GX but ended up getting a Land Cruiser for $5,000 off MSRP. Looks good in his driveway beside his wife’s 911 T and Cayman GTS.

MSRP car at nearly every dealer unless you run into a program car.

IMO it’s diminishing returns once you go past a Telluride SXP at 52k … I wouldn’t buy a GV80 or any Genesis without being sure what its value will be in X years.

What makes a good purchase is value retention and that’s where only a few shine: Telluride and most Lexus and Toyota SUVs etc

I don’t see any issue with the interior of this truck. I currently own an x3 and have in the past owned x5, Volvo xc90, etron gt, defender , ix etc and I actually quite like the interior of this one. I absolutely hate the the new bmw interiors with the stuck on screens and love the instrument cluster, infotainment setup. My only complain is the lack of overhead vents and second row climate which is included in the premium and base 1958 Landcruiser but can’t be found on the overtrail model .

In terms of pricing, I think it is good value at mid 60s for premium and mid 70s for overtrail which falls right inline with bmw Audi offerings and much better value compared to the 4 cyl lc250 which I also owned for a few months before I got the gx . The Landcruiser is also a 60-70k msrp truck which explains why there is such a high demand for the gx

As far as everyday drivability is concerned , bmw and defender drive much better as expected . They are not body on frame trucks after all but this truck is a true off-roader and serves a dual purpose personality which x5 an and defender could only dream of. The cargo space is massive , and can tow 9k pounds

There is no point in discussing reliability and high resale value as the Lexus would win hands down

The Lexus doesn’t lease well but neither does a x5 or landrover product.

nice rigs papi – curious why did you sell the LAND CRUISER

Honestly I’m with @Dany1122

4Runner TRD Off Road premium is the move. Has all the tech you could ever want. Interior is simple, big knobs and physical buttons. You can pick one up for a few grand off sticker and be in the low $50’s. Don’t be put off by the 4 cylinder, even in non hybrid form that motor is a gem. It’s got great low end torque, gets off the line quick and gets better MPG’s than the Lexus. Also incredibly quiet and doesn’t suffer from upright windshield noise. Great cargo room. Same off road capability. Less cachet but who cares. End of rant

Not for someone who’s prioritizing a nice interior

Why is someone who’s prioritizing a nice interior looking at a GX to begin with

The 4cyl driveterain is utterly terrible. Inefficient , unrefined , slow . Simply put the worst drivetrain I’ve ever experienced. Hagerties review sums up pretty well

Nope and they tank in value while the LC and GX don’t.

That’s harsh. But I guess it depends what you’re comparing it to. Compared to my LC200 the hybrid felt great and like a much more daily-able powertrain.
