GX 550 mark up?

I got a few calls last week on in stock units that were “reserved” but the person who put the deposit down didn’t want them. All at MSRP. The Lexus dealers sounded disappointed.

I think this is happening with the TX too, getting weekly texts from the salesman at our local dealership. The waiting lists/demand were either non-committal or people moved on to other cars.

Check out this satisfying video.

GX wins the comparison.

As great as it is, no one should pay over MSRP.

If Lexus and Toyota dealer thought they were gonna cash in on the Land Cruiser, then their disappointment isn’t news

In my eyes GX/LC (2024) will always be a Prado.

When I started driving one of my first cars was a Prado (the outgoing GX460) and then my dads Yukon and LC200 was night and day difference in driving and off road capabilities (at least in the Sand Dunes)

I can’t fathom paying a markup for a mere Prado; look at LX it still going at MSRP or above.

At least latest GX/LC has full time 4x4 unlike the last ones

Hearing these things get like 300 miles to the tank. Small, if true.

Thats it??? Big if true…

I got mine for msrp at local dealer and it appears that they have a bunch more (mostly from people who cancelled their orders). No BS dealer up charges from my experience. The market is likely softening. So good for the buyers.

I went in yesterday to two local dealers in Central FL one had a luxury in stock in white and they were solid on the 5k markup. Leasing was more expensive as they said Lexus isn’t giving them room to negotiate as they are in “high demand.”

Second dealer dropped the mark up to 3.5, for an incognito premium +. 1900 down 1,300 a month financed. Went home to consider, wanted to spend less than 1k on it, guess I’ll wait till they’re sitting on the lot.

I went to look at GX550 and it was so disappointing.

I saw one in person recently too. The interior looked kind of cheap (i.e. too plasticky) That NuLuxe or whatever Lexus calls their seat material really doesn’t look all that premium. The leather in old school Lexus vehicles was much nicer.

The complete lack of any space behind the third row killed it for me. Seriously can’t even fit a grocery bag back there. The sales associates directed me to a TX and I said no thanks.

How do you guys deal with the 15mpg this thing gets? It gets the same mileage as an Escalade but it feels so much smaller.

Same. I’ll probably get x7

By not talking about it and pretending 13-15 MPG is common. When we are done with lease, we go EV to offset MPG trauma…speaking for friend :see_no_evil:

If you aren’t realistically off-roading, superior dynamics for sure.

Lease one or looking at a CPO? I’ve been kicking it around myself

Build new one since APR is 1.9

Plan to keep it longer?

I’m seeing 2.99

1.99 to 60 months or 3.49 for 72.
