GX 460 Prem Plus - good deal? Purchase

,

Good Deal?

MSRP: $66k

10.5% off

4.99% at 60 months

Doc fee: ~$200

Monthly- $1,100

First and fees at signing

Reasons to buy: V8 engine, solid feel , test drove it over the usual potholes and it was amazing, smooth

Negatives are fuel economy and highway mannerisms -

Audi Q7 was a much better highway racer but at ~$1k effective it made no sense

Cx-90 gas leases in the higher trims are abysmal

Only comp was 4-pot defender - interest rate was the same

If you care about reliability for the long run then its a great vehicle but if your looking into leasing there are better options.

It’s a purchase

Need a workhorse that can take abuse - decent luxury without attracting too much attention

Cayenne got nixed due to possible unwanted attention - also got clipped last minute

Use and abuse decent cars around town - bring out the special ones occasionally

I learned my lesson from the Eqs - attention is not good!

Lol - not at all - hate is hate - drive a nice car and you’ll be everyone’s target in large cities

Out of the city is a completely diff experience

Also I’m not shipping cars from out of state anymore- so much easier to just scoop up the car locally

NYC what a shithole

If you are going to keep it a few years (which you won’t, LH is cancer) I’d get it
It’s a tank

Ghost town this summer - Europe opened up

It’s a G-wagon alternative - not a g but close

Had to settle for white - atomic silver wasn’t available on ground and couldn’t find a sport design

It’s high 50s

If this was west coast, I’d push for closer to 15%, but east coast seems to be sitting tight around what you have. Idk if there are some regional incentives Mfg 2 Dealer that they are going with to get to that number or the lure of the last V8 Toyota is stronger on the east coast.

Either way, subvented APR from LFS,no blessings I’d take it.

Yeah I took it - one of the last pre-inflation MSRP’s

Doubt they get discounted more - idk if people will be fans of the turbo engine in the new one

If you look at V-8s you’ll only find them in cars $150k plus going forward

Not really a cali car - brutal winters on the east coast make it worthwhile I guess

The mark levinson smacks

It’s not that bad.

Nice job! You’ll NEVER be underwater! I love the GX for all the reasons you mentioned. Currently we have a ‘22 Highlander and I don’t think the GX is any bigger inside and we (as a family of 5) need more space than what’s in the Highlander.

While the V8 may not be as powerful as others on the market, the GX is silky smooth, even under full throttle. Plus its relatively simple motor, and tuned for longevity.

Enjoy it!

Since on the GX topic, just realized this is Premium+. Excellent deal

Those are limited supply.

It seems the remaining allocation are stratified as zero base, Premium everywhere, and Luxury all concentrated basically in FL, TX.

If it’s a 2023 I would not consider buying it. 2024 is the first significant update in 20 years. Car is so dated and clunky.

It has the old school charm - I don’t trust turbo engines - abuse a turbo during winter and you’ll find out -

For NYC streets it’s the right size and shape - I know I’m not getting my hands on the new GX till 2025

Between ADM’s and high rates plus MSRP inflation

Base 2024 is gonna be ~$75k

It has an appeal for longevity, comfort, and remaining in comfort and isolation while the world ends outside. The interior appointments look archaic, say no hyperscreen, but step into the new TGNA Lexus vehicles and the design is fresh/new, but the materials dont feel upto par.

The GX550 is an interesting deal strictly from a powertrain standpoint. I dont have faith in it yet.
Yes, this engine started out with the 2018 LS, then LX/LC, then Tundra, Sequoia, and now the GX. However, the LSs suffered block replacements and tuning issues, tundra had wastegate issues, now hearing the LC300 owners out in the ME are suffering engine block replacements.

All in all, dont know if its a supplier issue, tuning issue, or design fault. Dont want to end up holding the proverbial bag like 2ARFE, 1zzfe/2zzfe owners.

@Dany1122 Who told you that base is $75k? Dang thats quite the bump. I remember when bases were 54, premiums were 58, lux was 65-67. Now its base at 59, premiums 61, and lux is 70s.
