Great deal on Honda Accord ... but purchased used CRV + warranty

I was told Honda will be changing the Accord and dealers are trying to move them. A local sale is base 2017 Accord with auto and A/C; 36 months lease, $207/month $0 down, all in except plates, little things. I didn’t get specifics but another dealer dropped $3k off list as a standard discount, so I think it’s just a sharp pencil. Honda is pulling its weight with .9% financing up to 60 months, for those who want to buy the Accord.

HRVs and CRVs were near list, no good deals. We really wanted the AWD CRV as we live in Buffalo, NY which hosts the white stuff. We also like the rear hatch, as I own a Honda Element and we hall everything and anything (although, 7" less height on the CRV).

They had a used 2016 CRV with $8k miles. Got it for $19,000 with 3.5% financing. For an extra $2200, I purchased a 10 year / 100k mile warranty ($100 deductible per incident). Payments are about $400/mo for 5 years with a $1,000 VW Jetta trade-in.

I think the Accord was the better deal, but the AWD and rear hatch forced us to get creative.

I hope we made the right decision. I could always go back and trade in my old Honda Element and get the Accord to sit next to the CRV.

Cancel warranty and get money back you can get a 8 year 120k warranty from Honda (hondacare warranty) for around 1200 at sacucci honda on the east coast.

but thats for new vehicles. not used ones.

That warranty sounds expensive for a Honda whose repair costs are cheaper. My father paid similar for used Mercedes. Unlimited miles however 7 years.
