2019 traverse 3 lt with lt premium package. Dont like the selling price. Its close to 10 percent but not quite there. Trading in 2018 highlander with us keeping 3 in equity and they keep the other 3 for down payment.
We need more info to help you. What state are you in? Markets can be local…how many Chevy dealers are there within 200 miles is a factor. What is the trim level Traverse you’re looking at? FWD or AWD? Have you looked up the base Money Factor? If not, post here and ask for MF, Residuals, and Incentives - include your zip code:
Also, go here to doublecheck incentives:

Thanks for the response. Its the dc area so theres a ton of dealers. Its all wheel drive 3lt. Can anyone tell me mf, residuals and incentives for 20678? Thanks never used a lease or this site before so im sorry if im doing this wrong.
No problem…this community is here to help. Please create a profile on the edmunds forum above and post your request in that forum. Here’s how you should make your request:
“Looking for MF, Residual, and Incentives for 2019 Traverse 3LT AWD in 20678 on a 39 month / 10k/year lease.”
Out of curiosity, why are you getting rid of the Highlander?
I wonder why also, Highlander was my 1st lease …loved my Highlander, just didn’t need all that space, no little children…leasing Rav4 now, ok, but no comparison to Highlander, Highlander is much better, RAV4 ends in a few months, looking now to see what is out here…
Opposite problem. We love the highlander its just too small. Wife wants kid #4. We have 2 still in car seats.
Got them down to 455 a month 12k miles. Seems pretty good to me
Don’t rush this. This is $455/month with $3,000 down, right? How much of that is cap. cost reduction? I.e. how much of that $3,000 is towards 1st month, doc fee, and title/registration?
Also, how many dealerships have you gotten online quotes for? Unless you’ve done more research than you’ve posted about, you need more time.
Do you now know what the base MF is? These are all things you need to know before assessing the quality of a lease offer from a dealership.
The traverse is not a good lease this month. I don’t know if they have a better deal tomorrow. if you need it now, go for it. Best i got with $44.5k MSRP is $535/month including tax $0 DAS
This is the contract…ask for the lease worksheet.
Have you switched to a different vehicle or different terms (months/miles)? I ask because the residual highlighted yellow in 7d, $26,927.60 is 59% of the MSRP of the vehicle you posted initially - $45,640, and the residual on that sheet was 57%. So it looks like you switched from 39 months / 10k/year to 36 month / 12k/year.
A few thoughts:
-
Common wisdom on this forum is never to put any cash down on a vehicle lease, as you’re doing in 6.B.1 of the contract - $3,000. The reason being if your vehicle is totaled, insurance will not make you whole with that $3,000 - it’s lost. I would ask them to cut you a check for $6,000 instead of $3,000.
-
That $3,000 down, called capitalized cost reduction, is decreasing your actual monthly payment. Your true monthly payment isn’t $454.89 it $3,000/36 = $83.33 + $454.89 = $538.22.
-
Your first sheet has Ancillary/Other of $1,619…what is this? Ask them for a breakdown.
-
You need to find out what the base Money Factor is, so you can see if they’re marking it up. If you’ve already done that, let us know that.
-
Have you contacted other dealers to see how they compare?

Try to plug this info into the calculator…here’s my attempt, which doesn’t match your payment…something is clearly off, but you want to get to a situation where you understand the payment. To do this, you need to know the MSRP, Sale Price, Lease Cash / Rebates / Incentives, Months/Miles, Residual, Money Factor, and how Taxes are calculated in your state.
Here’s a great article on how to calculate a lease payment - https://leasehackr.com/blog/2016/4/17/how-to-calculate-lease-payments-by-hand
What about this one - this price offered includes $3,750 rebates you probably don’t qualify for, so add that into their sale price and you get their sale price on their website - $39,934 with an MSRP of $45,390 - that’s a 12% discount if that discount sticks on a lease. The cargurus price analysis shows a Great Price at $40,503 with an MSRP of $45,390 or 10.8% off. Shoot for at least that.
The selling price is probably as good as you’re going to get, but rebates of $750 is atrocious for a mass market GM product. It’s murdering this deal. But now that it’s July, this may change.
Are there any Traverse trims that have higher incentives??? Did you check on Acadia?
FWIW, I just leased a 2019 LT cloth with msrp $39,290 for 24 months/10k for $295/month with only first month due at signing. I have GMS pricing and live in Michigan.
You also had a dealer that threw in over $4000 dealer cash which is by far the most i’ve ever seen!
yup, leasing a traverse last month was horrendous for regular peeps, even with loyalty, it’s not leasehckr friendly. But if you like the vehicle, there’s no way to stop you. If you get 10%off MSRP plus any incentives, I call that a winner for traverse.
