At least they didn’t call these back and crush or disable them like the EV1.
RIP to a real one
Well, after seeing all the $99/mo Sparks, 500e’s, and i3’s fly off the lots after $15k in incentives, they thought that Americans were ready for European/Japanese style clown cars. But by the looks of all the newer models, Americans really want giant hoods and giant grills.
@ethanrs Good old days
What was the point of doing a refresh and even introducing a new variant (EUV) and only selling it for 2 years? They knew the Equinox was coming in 2023 back then.
I really like the Bolt and wish they would keep it as a bargain EV. I have used one as a primary family car for 2.5 years now. It’s an overall great package and tremendous value.
Any thoughts on how this will effect Bolt EV and EUV resale? I think they will be ok because they are still one of the most affordable EVs out there. I was able to get a fully loaded EUV for 26k once you factor in tax credit.
IMHO Parts will become harder such as new battery packs.
Well they have to offer parts for at least the 8 year warranty period. It’s not like the average person is going to really buy a new pack on their own if out of warranty. They’ll just scrap it.
They can just go the Tesla route, Everything is Lemoned! haha
RIP to the car that literally changed my life lol
You and me both! I’m going to miss having a free car come September.
Someone just posted today on reddit with 230k+ miles on the odometer less then 20% degradation and basic maintenance, changing bulbs and now struts, yet everyone is freaking out about pArTz which will be made by aftermarket.
Everything reasonable EV is now $40k+ until we get that base model $30k equinox EV.
This isn’t a big deal, they will be producing ev Trucks and SUV at the plant so which will be great for GM margins. instead of putting the batteries in little clown cars with crap margins, the Trucks and Suv market will gobel them up with hefty margins.
