I have had them ask for proof of employment. An employee badge proved sufficient.
Another easy way, if you are friendly with someone who works directly for the firm who you are subcontracted to is amenable…
They may be able to simply give you a friend and family GM supplier code. In that case no proof of employment as necessary.
Also, keep in mind that GM supplier and true GMS are not the same thing. We kind of throw the terms together for convenience but GMS means GM stockholder, which generally means GM employee in this context. The specified price below MSRP can vary drastically between Supplier and GMS. GMS, as far as I have ever seen, is a significantly bigger discount than supplier.
Hi, Anyone having GM Friend & Family Code and willing to share one, please? I am signing Chevrolet Blazer EV on Monday.
Hey everyone,
Looking to get a GM EV Friends & Family Code if anyone is able to help out in that regards. Dealers been holding a car for me for a week but im unable to proceed without a F&F EV code. Appreciate all the help! Will be happy to make a donation to a charity of your choice!
Am I reading this correct?
First the GM supplier employee needs to use the code and ONLY then he can share another one with friends or family?
I had an EV Supplier code issued to my spouse in June, having never used a code myself.
I’m not even on the lease (I was traveling and unable to sign in person before month-end, and e-sign wasn’t an option due to the DMS outage).
It’s obv possible that this changed since June.
If i am not mistaken based on guidelines, you and your spouse are treated as a GM supplier employee.
I guess there is more to it.
This is from the EV Supplier term sheet:
Eligible Participants
This Program is available only to Eligible Participants, defined as:
- Active employees of eligible GM supplier companies who reside in the U.S.
- Active employees of eligible GM fleet and commercial companies who reside in the U.S.
Sponsored Purchasers
Participants are able to sponsor their spouse.
I’ve used 1 of 2 annual Supplier EV codes, so I could still generate one for me/my spouse to use within the annual window.
Presumably the option to share an EV Supplier code with friends/family wasn’t present until my spouse used the EV Supplier code I had issued in June.
Also note that it appears that Supplier and EV Supplier are treated as discreet buckets for sharing purposes.
While I can generate an EV Supplier code for friends/family, I cannot generate one for Supplier (which neither I nor my spouse has used).
Great. Thank You for your help
