If you have a GM Rewards Card be on the lookout for a private offer in your email, it does appear to be targeted though. I have my own GM card and have not received anything yet but I’m also an authorized user on my dad’s account and I received an email today where they applied one to his. Nothing super compelling out there at the moment but if you are looking to replicate something like @senwia did for a cheap Equinox or something like that I suppose that every little bit helps.

Would it make sense to preemptively apply for GM Rewards Card if you are in the market for a GM vehicle in the near future?
I am not getting these offers- but I think my reward balance is too high.If you want an offer, keep the rewqrds points lower.
No it doesn’t. It has to be through the link your dealer will provide.
