GM Lease return with low miles

All, I leased a Volt for my wife in 2018 for a 15k/year for three years and paid the whole amount in a single payment. Now my wife lost her job in Jan 2020 and we won’t be using the whole 45000 miles when we return the car in Nov 2021. Will I be able to get my money back? What options do i have? Appreciate your help.

No, you don’t get refunded for unused miles.

You can see if there’s any positive equity in the vehicle as you approach the end of the lease term, and if there is, you can sell it rather than turn it in, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Other option would be to do a lease transfer sooner than later and get someone to pay you an upfront amount.

Also bear in mind the Volt is no longer in production… if the lessor allows lease transfers, maybe put it up on swapalease and see if you can get some $ back, especially if you have a lot of miles left.
