What was the initial forecasted monthly sale of units?

This doesn’t bode well for our collective carbon-free future.

This plant makes both the Spark and the Bolt. GM is blaming collapsing Spark sales for the shutdown.

However, to Elon Musk’s point, the Bolt likely remains a CARB compliance play for GM. As validation, GM is severely restricting the number of Bolts it builds for hot foreign markets like Norway, Germany, and South Korea. The Bolt is already “sold out” in South Korea, and the wait list is thousands deep in European markets.

So why doesn’t GM export more? Presumably because the Bolt really only has a business case in the US with zero emissions credits.

It’s been the talk around town… all of the factories do a short few week layoff when build out happens … they’re well beyond that point now.

Come on $99 lease!!! I can smell it soon!!!

The initial forecast was to “da moon” with every family driving a BOLT by 2020. When enthusiasts pre-ordered them and paid sticker, they were placing bets on how soon it would take to sell out of capacity and whether LG could supply 10k or 20k max battery packs a month.

Well the car is great but GM mismanaged the rollout badly. Should have sold it in all states and passed on the 7.5k federal tax rebate right away. You reap what you sow. GM sales turned the BOLT into the DOLT.
