GM/Cadillac Qmerit EV Charger Install Credit

Hi all,

Looking to take advantage of the Cadillac $1500 credit towards a home EV charger. Has anyone done this? Do you need to use a Qmerit installer - the yelp reviews are awful awful for the Qmerit certified dealer in my area.

You must use one of their installers, and from what I have read they JACK UP the prices. Unfortunately it sounds like they make they money from increasing the price substantially when these credits are used.

Check out the prices in these threads

@li8625 will need more free EV charging credits to install a L2 in his garage.

I agree the idea of QMerit seems noble since there are a bunch of dodgy DIY installs out there. But the folks signing up to do installs for QMerit don’t seem much better.

All they do is install a 240V outlet, not a charger. And they seem to basically charge what it would take plus 3/4 of the credit. So I just didn’t bother with them since I already had a charging setup.
