GM $3,000 competitive lease cash

Just went to a dealer, they don’t really get your paper… And give me a quote of 130 a month 600 due… Will see what they will do for the last day of the month.

Went to the dealer in Ohio today. They offered the $6200 in rebates and a sales price of 31k for a Chevy Equinox LT with sunroof, v6 engine, heated seats. However-- their final lease calculations were completely off. They quoted me at $340/mo for a 24 mo lease. What gives???

My rebates are exactly the same as @StuckinLodi - $4,475, so you can see breakdown there.

The rebate is there, just the computer can’t come close to what you did, (for example : due at sign only 1st month payment ) Any idea of how to bring it down to close to you guys? I’m trying to get 12k/24mo. So it’s 66% instead of 67%
Do you guys think it’s because of the Bank? On mine quote says Ally Lease instead of GMFL.

Thanks

Edit:
Just pulled the trigger. knowing that it’s not as cheap as others but overall i’m very happy with almost loaded LT. Love the Bose Sound System in particular. Thanks for everyone’s tip!

So newbie posting here, but I think this is how Ursus’ lease was calculated based on 4.15% VA’s tax rate:

Agreed Upon Value of Vehicle $20,865.00
Additional Cap Items / Fees $0
Gross Capital Cost $20,865.000
Cap Cost Reduction $3,410.250
Adjusted Cap Cost $17,454.750
Residual Value $15,728.25
Depreciation Amount $1,726.500
Rent Charge $366.340
Monthly Tax Total $86.853
Total Base Payment $2,179.693
Lease Payments 24
Base Scheduled Payment $87.202
Sales / Use Tax $3.619
Total Scheduled Payment $90.821

If I am not mistaken, they took part of the 4,475 rebates towards the 1,064.75 fees (item 22) and only put through 3,410.25 as true cap cost reduction. Curious what the 1,064.75 consists of and if they taxed the entire 4,475 or only 3,410.25 but I think this is a sweet deal. If only dealers in NY were as flexible as in VA, the sell price is almost $950 below dealer hold-back! Great job in my opinion.

skyline31518 - I couldn’t get to the penny like I did with earlier post but I’ll give it a shot and hope this helps…

Agreed Upon Value of Vehicle $22,755.47
Additional Cap Items / Fees $-
Gross Capital Cost $22,755.470
Cap Cost Reduction $3,736.600
Adjusted Cap Cost $19,018.870
Residual Value $16,790.40
Depreciation Amount $2,228.470
Rent Charge $395.334
Monthly Tax Total $242.702
Total Base Payment $2,866.506
Lease Payments 24
Base Scheduled Payment $109.325
Sales / Use Tax $10.113
Total Scheduled Payment $119.438

First, your MSRP is more than Ursus (25,540 vs 23,475) so you should factor that in because your agreed upon price will most likely not be the same. However, you did a great job to save more off the MSRP (almost 2,785 off!!!), what’s your strategy? Second to keep in mind, your sales tax rate is more (4.15% vs 9.25%). Lastly, I’m pretty confident 66% is because you elected 12K miles (and not 10K). I think if you want to get to same monthly payment as Ursus, you’ll need to try to get another 555 off your agreed upon price to around 22,200. I doubt they will go any lower so if you are able to, see what happens if you pay the DMV fees upfront with first month. I am having a hard time calculating 712.75, the total upfront fees (item 24), but see what else you can negotiate off or get lowered (i.e. dealer processing fee).

They told me if I pay those DMV and some other fee upfront, which is $700, and it will be 120.01 per month for 23 month. I also told them that I am a recent college grad, so I think they add 350? to my rebate(not sure about that). But yea I was hoping that there’s more room for negotiation. Today wasn’t a very busy day so we played around with the numbers on his calculator a bit, that’s the number that I got at the end that seems the lowest, but since it’s not the last day(31) I thought I’ll have some more space for negotiation. Do you think that there’s more space for negotiation?

Thanks

Sorry but I don’t understand how your monthly payment increases if you pay that upfront. The cap cost reduction would increase to 4,475 (not including any college grad rebate) and tax on cap amount should then be 413.93 where new monthly payment would come out to ~117.67. I thought, based on your pic, they are taking 738.40 from your incentives (line 11: 4,475 minus line 12: 3,736.60) and applied it to DMV 260 + Tax on Cap Cost 345.64 + some other fee(s) 107.11 maybe dealer proc & waste tire recycling fees. Definitely get an itemized breakdown of all fees (not just summarized) and ask where your cap cost difference of 738.40 and customer cash 700 (line 29) are currently working towards. I am guessing acq fee and regional fees and hopefully not 485 for “security etching” (which registers the vehicle in the national stolen vehicle database and acts as reimbursement if your vehicle is stolen) which I found listed as “Other.” When I asked about this bogus fee, they magically were able to waive it.

yea the 700 includes those fee and such. The dealer doesn’t get @Ursus 's deal even with the 4. 15% of tax. He think that there’s customer cash missing, he couldn’t believe that it’s so low lol. he tried to replicate the number but it will cost the dealer more than 2xxx to do this number. So I might go to them on the last day which is Friday to see what they are willing to do.

Does anyone know if this will work with a Tahoe?

Not sure if Tahoe’s are included, it has a list of cars here and a Online Chat button that you can try

I am skipping this deal.
If someone is in NJ and need this car. They can contact Jay at Bridge water Chevy

2 years or 3 years?

Ask them for 10% off MSRP plus 25 cents per mile.

That’s pretty much the deal already on the table!

Edited to say 2 years

What is 25 cents per mile.
This is 30000 miles lease, so ata you saying 30000*0.25=$7500?

I think he is saying for them to deduct .25 per mile of mileage the car already has, so 2,500*.25 = $625.

Your discount of $3,045 looks great to me. Effective $50 per month including tax, I’d sign yesterday as long as you know there are no more incentives you qualify for. You are getting the $3,000, $1,225, $750, and $1,500 bonus tag correct for a total of $6,475? If so, then you are good to go!

Yes you got it correct …
Thanks

Edit - I am skipping this one and this car is in Bridgewater Chevy. My original post has required details.

Finalized a Cruze Premier for a friend of mine today at Princeton Chevy.
Msrp $24350
Selling price $22000
Rebates $6475
24/10000
One pay off $846
Included DMV charges are little higher. Expecting a check of $109 based on previous experience. Making it $737 one pay lease.

Looks like the offer is gone for April. I only see $500 loyalty cash still as well.
