Talking to a dealer about a GLS 450 loaner with about 7k miles on it. They have it marked down ~9.7% already. Any advice on what discount to target?
Check the marketplace.
This is a sick deal…
Generally on a loaner thats a weak discount. 7k miles is a good chunk of miles. Discount should be higher
yeah my loaner at 22% off with 2500 Miles on it and its a 580!!!
theres a deal on a red one in norcal thats been sitting. someone can post a link to it
It’s a used car selling for $79k or less if you can find another one.
Why would you spend $43k to rent it and give it back and rent one again?
The sales price seems kind of high for a loaner with those miles.
Here’s a used 2024 GLS450 with AMG Line and soft close doors (weird combo)

They’re listing $77k, and you know you’d rather have 1 owner than a beat to hell loaner. So them selling you a loaner for $79k with similar miles means they’re profiting quite a bit on this, and you’re getting whacked with the loaner miles on the lease residual.
This build also seems more well equipped and has a bit of room to haggle down (loaner). More bang for your bucks.
Edit: here’s the option load on the loaner
If you can get low interest financing, this car is one that it may make more sense to just buy and sell when convenient for you instead of leasing.
Thanks unfortunately I’m looking for a 6 seater and haven’t come across many for sale. Do you have any thought on what a fair sales price is compared to the 77k one you showed? I started at $73k and they said no.
Nah man… that 6 seat combo is rough and commands a premium.
There’s this one, but I think it’s the one you’re already looking at. Anyway try to get another $1k off the sales price… and look into some financing to loan/buy vs lease just to see if it makes more sense.
That wouldn’t make sense for them on a 2024 when the most comparable 2023 is $74,000. Just like how MBFS’ RV and MF don’t make sense for you. You’re looking for a 3-way deal that only makes sense for one of the parties.
