GLE 53 lease....disposition thoughts/advice

Hi Leasehackr Community- I’m halfway through a 36/10k lease on a 2024 GLE 53 SUV. I’m very pleased with the car but due to a work change I anticipate I’ll be over the allotted miles by about 12k. (About $3k to pay for miles before lease end) I like the Mercedes lineup so I can foresee myself leasing one again.

Should I try and pre-pay the miles before the lease ends/black out period and maybe take advantage of any pull up programs?

Am I thinking about this correctly or should I consider doing something different? Curious your thoughts.

It’s not clear if Mercedes allows for that (call MB Financial to ask). And, if they don’t offer a discount for pre-paying, I don’t think that would provide any sort of advantage.

Thank you. I contacted MBFS and they allow you to
purchase miles during the lease.

You should try to take advantage of the pull ahead lease loyalty and ground that lease now and get into a new lease.

The programs on GLS is pretty spicy (compared to last month) this month. 0.00136 MF and $4k of combined lease loyalty and lease rebate.

Thank you for sending this. I don’t have much experience bailing early on a lease. I would assume they would have to either pay your remaining payments or treat the car as a trade. Is that correct? My feeling is I would take a bath either way…unsure however. TY!

It’s actually an exceptionally generous program if you’re rolling into a new Benz lease.

They waive the remaining payments. This effectively ends the lease at the maturity value. You take zero hit for a true up other than miles over the limit.

They do NOT pro rate your miles… if you originally had a 3 year, 10k per annum lease, that’s 30,000 miles over 36 months. Let’s say you’re at month 30 and already at 30,000 miles. You may think you’re pacing to be over miles. But with the early loyalty grounding, you can end the lease early at 30 months and still be assessed for 30,000 miles against your old lease with no penalty for over miles since they aren’t pro-rating.

And they give you a loyalty rebate on your new ride.

And the disposition fee is waived.

Wow- I must have not read it carefully but that sounds terrific. Thank you kindly. I will be looking at a few of their qualifying products.

Yeah… maybe they changed the early lease turn in from 6 to 3 months. Probably best to connect with a broker or talk to a sales person.

He’s definitely going to take a bath. Mercedes won’t pull ahead by 18 months.

How is your parking situation? Can you get a cheap 24 month EV lease and use both cars?

Yeah I can’t read. Didn’t realize how screwed he was.

Yea but between monthly and insurance, it’s going to be more than $166/mo (which is what it is costing him to pay per mile for the next 18 mo).

OP best option is pre purchase miles.

I don’t think a GLE53 driver will be happy driving a GLS450. It’s big, bulky and relatively slow pick up

Probably but he also needs to account for additional maintenance and possibly another set of tires.

I think you mean “disposition” and not “deposition” unless you are rollin’ lawsuit.

objection to form

Overruled, but noted.

Thank you- I’ll wait until I’m closing in on the final 6 months of the lease and see what pull-ahead programs are available and then address any mileage issues.

Will edit under rule 30(e).

Behold, someone changed the thread title to mess with @DailyDriven

Dropping the FRCP bomb? No matter, motion to compel and request for fees/costs will be brought for failure to comply with the deposition notice in the original title.
