Which one would you get, if price is the same?
Depends what your using them for.
The usual stuff - getting grocery, taking kids to school, road trips, etc.
Gladiator Rubi all day.
watch out for the jeep death wobble
Tacoma trd off road / pro
Has a bed that’s useable
The pro will hold its value better than the gladiator
I had a Gladiator rental, thought it was great aside from the 15mpg highway.
Rubicon anything is not great for long highway trips. Had a wrangler rubicon JL. Sold it for 4r trd pro. Way more comfortable. That being said the toyota tranny, engine is dull, especially the 3.5L in tacoma.
Tacoma I believe has smaller backseats as well. I would test drive both. Trd pro will likely hold value slightly better. Your better off getting mojave if your not offroading.
I understand that comes with adding fatter, taller tires and suspension changes, not stock.
Jeep is giving $3500 for leftover 2022. Maybe a Sport for around $38000 would be a better deal?
A sport has manual door locks / windows
I had one, it got old quick
What state? Left coast begs for mountains, trails and beaches which the Glad will conquer.
Southern California
It primarily comes with loose/damaged suspension components. Can happen on stock if something wasnt properly tightened.
Well, we are talk’in Stellantis, where you have to push in your own fuses! lol
(btw, pushed fuses again last weekend, a few had worked loose).
Have you looked into either the KDMax or OTT tune that everyone raves about? Apparently it changes the shift points and a few other things to make it relatively less pedestrian. Approx $350 from my research. Sadly I never did it & my Tacoma lease ends in a few weeks and ideally I sell it this week.
You need a truck for that?
The speed bumps here are no joke. I wouldn’t trust anything other than Fox.
The Raptor or TRX might be a better pick. You’ll want that extra horsepower so the moms don’t beat you to the school drop off line.
Don’t 90% of buyers “need” a truck for the same lol. At least the Gladiator looks different.
