Getting chevy costco reimbursement after purchase?

Hi all! I bought a 2025 equinox EV Conv Package I on Friday for $5000 24M/15K miles one pay. I think it was a decent deal but my dealer did not put the $500 GM card sign up and I saw today that the Costco deal is back up ($1000 off), any chance to ask the dealer to reimburse this or get the rebates? Or is this something that is not possible?

Edit: Called my dealer and said the reimbursements weren’t “compatible” with my current discounts.

Hi there. Let me know if you’re able to do anything about this.

I think you have a better chance of winning the lottery

But seriously chances are that bad? I imagine the dealership can put in the reimbursement after a certain number of days too. I feel like there has to be a way, timing is too close lol.

You could always pick up a second and Dollar Cost Average.

It depends if the dealer is nice and cares about customers… That’s a lot to ask from a dealer. Second it matters if the deal was sent for funding already. Third, is there anything you can dangle for them to want to do it? A service contract maybe that you can look up the best cost and ask if they are willing to roll in to the lease payment, then slowly pull out the certificate.

There is almost zero chance of this happening.

I don’t know what dealer you went to but in my experience most dealers A) Don’t do many One Pays and B) Often make mistakes submitting them because of that. It’s not out of the question that you may be asked to return to the dealership to re-sign some papers and that may be a good opportunity to mention it if that does happen.

I have another friend who would be willing to purchase the same vehicle asap. Looking to dangle that infront of them lol. In general, do y’all think I got a good deal though? Lease hacker score was 16+ i think.

Solid deal. I’m in the same boat - don’t fret it. I’ve also heard that the dealers may reduce the dealer discount to offset the Costco rebate. They will always play with the numbers to make sure it works for them at the end of the day. It’s a business. With that being said, think about what you just got - a really decent EV, with excellent range, good tech, for 30,000 miles…for $5,000. In any other comparison, would you be terribly unhappy? It’s barely over $200/mo. I’m annoyed a tad too, but it’s still a hell of a deal, comparatively speaking. I remember the days where getting to 10 years was amazing…now we have these insane 16, 20, 30 year deals lol. It’s a renaissance period for EVs when 16 years is cause for concern :).

This is exactly what just happened to me. Signed a one-pay on an equinox but forgot to add the $1000 current leasee cash. Called my dealer the next day, he says nothing can’t be done unless we rework the contract but the deal is already funded (seemed BS, funding takes a couple days in my experience). Today, I have had the car for about 2 weeks and I get a call from the finance manager saying there is an error in the contract it couldn’t be funded and I have to come resign the papers. My question is, can I hold it against them for that $1000 to be given back to me as a cheque since I already paid for the one-pay. If they refuse can I legally just return the car and get my money back since the older contract is void?

If the current lessee rebate is still valid I would tell them to make sure to include it when they rework the contract since you were eligible for it at the time of signing originally. See what they can do to make it right. It’s GM’s money, not coming from their pocket so I don’t see the issue.

I don’t think it works that way, once you signed the deal is done, can’t unwind it. Never had a dealer willing to do that. If it does, I would have my dealer unwind my deal on my sq6, after I signed there was an extra 2k rebate from Costco.

Time to move on.

In OP’s and your case yes. But in my case, the rebate already existed when I signed it just wasn’t applied. I don’t know if that would make a difference or hold up.

The consumer can’t elect to unwind it.

But if the bank doesn’t finance the deal then the contract language should automatically void it. Then the customer has to return the car or sign a new contract.
