Genesis lease extension

I was one of the many that scored a great deal last year on the GV60’s 13mo lease.

My lease is only due to return around June, but I’m wondering if anyone here has some experience with extending leases with Genesis/Hyundai finance.

As I do enjoy the car, if there are no comparable deals between May and June, I’d be more than happy to keep driving the GV60 for a few more months until I’m finally able to hack another car.

Any thoughts, please?

Genesis Financial does do lease extensions, but it is model/term specific, so you’d have to validate with them that they will offer an extension on this 13 mo lease option. Depending on the market condition and how that vehicle fairs now being 13 months old, they may be more than motivated to extend the lease month-to-month (more likely) or a new 13-month term (less likely).

Check with Genesis/Hyundai finance for lease extensions if no better deals arise.

Any idea on how much in advance I have to contact them?

I would reach out to them in late March/early April. You can try now, but don’t be surprised if they tell you to reach back out as you get closer to your lease maturity date.

Thank you for all the tips.

At 300ish a month + free charging I really wouldn’t be bothered to keep driving it for some extra months.

The low payment may be a disincentive for Hyundai to extend the lease. What is residual vs market value?

Not sure, but it is an EV so the residual is certainly way higher than the market value.

Go to the website and check the payoff amount.
