Genesis GV80 vs GV70 lease

Hello Everyone.

I’m in a dilemma that I’m sure most of you have been in. I’m trying to decide between the GV80 and GV70. At this point I need a family car to replace my F150. The dealer I’m working with is offering the pay off the remainder of my lease, which is $600 for 8 months. So far these are the number I’m working with. I’ve spent some time negotiating, but wanted to take a moment to look through the forum for some help.

GV80 3.5T Advanced Package
MSRP: 74,330
RV: 56%
MF:.00252
“Total Savings”: 12955
Net Price 61375
Motor Vehicle: 416
Doc: 595
Acq: 750
Tax 3067

-With 0 down they are giving me a payment of 1151 a month

GV70 3.5t Sport Advanced package

MSRP: 67455
RV 59%
MF: .00268
Total Saving: 6455
Net cost: 61000

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Same Motor Vehicle, Doc, Acq.
Taxes 2897
Trade payoff 4798

I would appreciate any help. I’m not sure where to go from this point. The gv80 would be an ideal car for the family. I’m just not sure what they next steps should be when negotiating.

I would get a QX60 from @aronchi for 1/2 the price…

I am assuming it is through Ford credit? Ford does not allow 3rd party buyout. Is the dealer buying out your vehicle?

With GV80, he is providing 10% discount, with GV70 he is providing 0% discount. Either way, none of the payments look nice enough to get either of these.

Neither, the Genesis GVs are rotting on lots because Genesis doesn’t want to give good incentives. ($5500 on a GV 80 when they get $7500?)

Pick something else.

They would give me a check to pay off ford

most stores are sold out of 2024s on both gv70 and gv80. that’s not accurate.

I like the looks of the cars and how they drive (also my wife would really like one). I know it’s not going to be a perfect hack, just looking to get a more sensible price.

Our dealer had about 4 GV80s and 3 GV70s from 2024. The GV80 I listed is a 2024 and the gv70 is a 2025.

The GV70 isn’t a spacious SUV, and depending on what version of the F-series Ford you’re coming from, the Genesis might feel seriously cramped inside.

The GV80 programs are usually terrible. Some cars just have shitty leases based on how the bank structures it and no amount of negotiating will change that.

You’re better off looking through Marketplace for the QX60, Palisade and Santa Fe (new body) etc etc.

Thank you very much I’ll take a look at the market place to see what’s available.

If you’re open to electric, you can get an electrified GV70 for ~ half that price per month. Much better incentives on the EV’s.

Sorry I thought this was the Electrified GVs not the gas ones.

Is your wife willing to look at a Kia EV9?

We did look at it, the deals are pretty solid, we just didn’t think it was as comfortable as the gv80.

I would recommend against a GV80, mine was a lemon 2 years ago… and service is quite poor since Genesis operates under Hyundai…

Anything you would have preferred to get?
