Cool I am from NJ. Can you provide dealer info for that car?
Rockland Hyundai.
DCN Hyundai in NJ also has a demo but that’s 550 I think
Thanks. Will check both
Can someone please hack this car for under $450?
Has anybody had any luck with these yet?
I was looking at the G80 5.0 or Sport and ran into the same problems. The car was nice, but not a great value due to the low RV compared to the competition. The S90 is probably the best value around right now, for a sedan. I ended up with the Jaguar XF for much less than the G80 5.0 offers I was getting. I wasn’t a big fan of the S90, although I love the XC60 and XC90.
Hi Everyone!
Just got a quote for a lease in NY.
36 months, 15k miles a year, G80 Sport 3.3T
$678 a month, taxes included, sign and drive
I got screwed over by another dealer with a $1,000 deposit so they also told me they would write me a check for $1,000 when I sign, which is around ~$28 a month (assuming I ever get my initial deposit back).
What do you guys think? Thanks!
Still high IMO. It’s a shame that these and the Stingers just don’t lease well right now, although you can get some great deals on used 2017 g80’s with the 3.8, but I’ve got my heart set on the 3.3tt.
What do you think a “good” price is? I went to another dealer trying to get in the $599-620 range and they flat out told me that I should walk into that dealer and accept the deal. From what he said, he thinks that they are probably adding 4-5k in “dealer rebates” or something along those lines. He said they get two $500 rebates for every car they sell, and the dealer is probably applying all of them.
Using the generic 1% rule, you were right on looking to be around $600 with 15k a year. It’s just tough watching other hackrs getting similarly priced cars for considerably less than that. The g70 with the 3.3t should be out soon and the 2019s in a few months. it might be worth waiting it out if you can. I’m starting to think that this and the Stinger might just be better purchased than leased.
Thank you! It’s funny, because I am looking at this in place of the stinger…mainly because the stinger is in the $680’s for the exact same lease terms. While not a lot, the G80 is $5 less per month, but has a 6k higher MSRP.
Daym, that is 5 series money and you are going to get a genesis?
I’m in WI and got quoted $770 for a Stinger GT2 for a 36/12 lease. Then I puked a little in my mouth.
I’m sorry, but isn’t the whole point behind KIA/HYUNDAI to be cheaper than their German rivals? I sat in the stinger, didn’t drive it, and was thoroughly underwhelmed with the materials/quality and function.
I would say a good price on a Genesis is <0.75%. When that will be doable, I don’t know. But I certainly wouldn’t even consider 1% on a Hyundai, as much as I love my Genesis. Personally, if I can’t get another one for <0.5% again when mine is up, I’ll move on to something else.
Do you have any recommendations as to how to get there? I have been getting quotes in the high 7’s and low 8’s from everywhere else, so I thought $678 with 1k back a pretty good deal. Granted, I’m new to this whole “leasehackr” thing, and am comparing these prices to the worst lease deal there is - the kia stinger GT2.
He’s not saying that its possible, he’s saying that he wouldn’t pay more than that price.
I don’t know the numbers since I haven’t looked into it at all this year, but you’ll know what’s realistic based on the RV and MF for each trim. If the residuals are still like 42%, chances are we won’t ever get there unless you get a base model with low MSRP at a significant discount.
Couldn’t agree with you more. My genesis is up March 2019 and as much as I like it I’m not paying over 375 (paying 340 now for a $42k MSRP). It’s a nice car but pricing make it all relative. DO NOT PAY $600 for this.
