I’m asking because I can’t find my lease docs (we moved and I have no idea where it is now)… but in general, do you need to return a leased car (Audi) from the dealership that you “bought” it from or can you return the lease to any Audi dealership?
You can return to any Audi dealer – your lease is with Audi Financial, not the dealer you leased from
You can return to any Audi dealer. It would be wise to get a preinspection done so you know about any charges beforehand and have time to fix them or avoid any headaches with possible lot damage at the dealer while it waits for a final inspection.
If it is a Ford, they used to require same dealer if within 100 miles.
Otherwise, just call the other dealer and schedule a Lease Turn in or Grounding appointment.
Did you get it inspected?
not yet, last lease payment is in September, but I was just curious because if I get a new audi lease, I don’t want it from that dealer
Call to confirm at your local dealer, but any dealer is usually fine. I just returned a lease from a dealer in NY to a dealer in Ohio. For most brands, this is fine, although I won’t preclude that it could be different for each brand/contract.
The inspection is included as part of your lease free of charge.
When you have the window, do the inspection, also gives you a bit of ‘peace of mind’ when the dealer tries to lowball your trade in with ‘BS’ things that are broke on your car
You can return to any Audi dealership in your area. I have returned out of state leases with local dealership without any issues. Just make sure that you have your lease return inspection done to avoid any surprises.
