I’m honestly still scratching my head on the original arbitration ruling on this one…
… apparently insurance covers a lot more than I thought it did?

Insurance is the best.
My favorite recent reminder of this: Traveler’s paid for Amber Heard’s full defamation defense under her homeowner’s policy.
And because she countersued, she probably triggered depp’s homeowner policy to cover his legal expenses
Wow mine would cover $15k, he must have a lot of coverage
UPDATE
Geico off the hook in $5 million payout to woman who got STD in car - CBS News.
“The Missouri Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled unanimously to overturn a lower court’s ruling that favored paying the woman. Instead, the state Supreme Court judges said Maryland-based Geico should have had a chance to weigh in sooner and sent the case back to the lower court for further deliberation.”
This whole case is absolutely insane. So I spent 30 minutes reading all the previous decisions in it rather than working. GEICO seems convinced the arbitration judgement was obtained by fraud/collusion and I think they are probably right. Such a weird series of events led to this huge judgement.
For reference, the short the MO Supreme Court’s decision is here.
Post script - Missouri has since changed the law to better protect insurers from this sort of action. So whatever happens here, this case is a one off.
but I can still get homeowners insurance to cover defamation defence?
