Gotta love the stubbornness for the context this was after I told them three times that I canât come to the dealer and stated the car is only three months old (practically new). Also sent them multiple photos.
Iâve ran into that brick wall many times. I just move on. There are plenty of dealers that wonât fight that.
Translation.
Most Accurate Number = Number that will hopefully be high enough that you like it but low enough that we make $$$.
Sooner or later a dealership will just high-ball you and then pick it apart when you get there.
Whatâs the point of back and forth? They can tell you 1 million, you come in, and they point to a speck of dust and say, hell no, with the speck, $100. Those offers are non-binding.
The point was to get a quote. Thatâs the only way I can sell a car. Like others suggested the conversation was going to nowhere so I stopped trying.
I thought their response was funny so I posted here.
Why so adamant? I fail to see the benefit. Dealer is saying that they canât give you an accurate quote without seeing the car, which I find reasonable. I see nothing funny about it.
There are a lot of dealers that have some how figured out how to deal with it.
Some companies have made entire businesses out of quite literally doing just that.
So what? Different companies have different business models. They are both reasonable (as long as it works, of course).
The whole âwe have to have it hereâ has been disproven. Thereâs a viable way to not do that as demonstrated by numerous companies. So itâs not âwe canât do thatâ, itâs âwe want you here so we can low ball you in person.â
Itâs fine of they want to run their business that way, but itâs just a game theyâre playing.
Got another NJC here. Arguing for the sake of arguing.
Same njc here.

Thank the heavens⌠I was starting to get worried I wouldnât qualify for this exclusive add on
Iâm afraid I must pass on such a generous opportunity.
thought some brokers could get these for MSRP now?
An order probably.
Well now thatâs certainly a creative justification and Iâd love to hear the mental gymnastics at play here
