Funniest/most ridiculous dealer replies you've ever gotten

Exactly, though from your tone I think you missed the point. They had a Internet Sales Specialist who discouraged online shopping, admitted that dealers via email either A) bait and switch or B) provide inflated quotes.
Later when Covid hit, they tout their online shopping platform because the switch on the lot outlined Option A is no longer attractive or available to the buyer. Therefore, price B-- just below MSRP-- is what they are now offering when you shop from the comfort of your sofa!

Isnt this the same guy who I said smelled like a rat after the SAL lease was posted?

That’s what I thought

Exactement mon frere.

His GT3 VIN had been sold to a private party as a used car in 2020.

Edit: Was a small exotic dealer in La Jolla.

I reported it to my guy on sal, he said pending an investigation they would shut it down.

That’s a really scummy but smart way to scam, they are evolving I guess.

Plus hershey found the car sold as private party.

It is amazing to me how many times sales people (mostly older) fall for scams that are sent to the dealer. For example, I got an internet lead today from someone claiming that we stole their intellectual property and there was a link in there (google drive download) for what I could only assume was a virus. And they just spam this, so the older sales person got it later and of course he opened it. Luckily, IT installed a program that does not allow downloads from untrusted sources, but we are constantly getting spam emails (i.e. emails titled “here is the invoice you asked for”) or bogus leads.

The finance guy told me that I should consider purchasing the package that covers brakes since the plug in I was about to purchase uses regenerative braking that would wear the brake pads faster. I did not make this up.

Found this gem this morning, can’t match my pricing tell them I’ll defraud them and to get a lawyer

I love the ol’ “your monthly will go down more if you put your money towards a down payment rather than MSDs” line.

It’s the specious “safest brand of production cars” claim for me.

This is what I got from a dealer that has an M3 available because original person that ordered it backed out - to be clear I did not ask for this info they reached out to people “on their list” who had expressed interest in the new M3 previously. What a privilege…

I’d need to up my essay game on dealer replies. 5000 words or less. Facts optional

ONLY $5k ADM…

Limited time offer, and I take a personal guarantee it will be gone before I send out my next email on that list.

It was weird, it was like “hey, this fell through and now we need to move it–for the low low price of over MSRP!*”

*While supplies last.

dealer side, I assume it works in their market…why deviate from a working recipe?

It must. A fool and his money…I contemplated replying that I could get a brokered M5 Comp for those types of numbers, but I decided I won’t even dignify this with a response.

Cough if this is in Southern California, I know quite a few people who have lots of cash and will pay extra for a Customized BMW. (Now where they got that ‘cash’ I won’t say)

DFW, but might as well be the same as SoCal.
