Fun Five Hundred Dollar Convertible Lease

This Feb, I will be completing 2 years of my LT1 Camaro vert lease with 15 month remaining. My barber of 15 years who is also a good friend now loves it and has mentioned few times that whenever Im ready to get rid of it, he wants In first.
While I was sitting in traffic today, I was looking around and saw other convertibles such as a CLE, a Mustang, a classic Lexus SC430 and thought to myself what other verts are even available to lease at or under $500 today which are some sort of fun. Seems like most options would be a 4 cylinder Mustang or maybe not even possible. While keeping things as is, I know Im 15 months away from lease end but the thought of whats around makes me wonder if Its gonna be a dead end unless I buy it out.
Want to see thoughts from the pros on here.

None that I can think of right now except for Wrangler

but honestly, that has been my personal unicorn since like 2020 lol. I haven’t see any vert under 500 unless it’s the wrangler.

Yes…only if its a 911 at 30% off and base rate lol. But that’s on the back burner for now.

You miss it ? Lol. I mean it sucks but a buyout could be an option. I have had this happened quite a few times where I have gotten too attached to a car and it sucks. But lets see what the future brings.

Yeah I just returned it but we’re getting like 100 inches of snow in the NYC area so…

Hummer is fun but a pita to “drop” the top with sofla rain. I usually just take the front 2 panels off bc I can pop them back on in like 30 seconds if I have to pull over

I am sure you could get a Miata and probably a Mini for under $500. Of course, way different cars. Camaro prices seem to be holding pretty well though, so this may be a case where buying it out is the best option. What’s the residual?

I think a base mustang v8 last month was possible if you had all incentives and like 11% off msrp. May be wrong though :grimacing:?

Those Mustang GTs are crazy now. I just checked a few, $66k-$71k MSRP for a typical Premium vert.? I haven’t checked leases, but if I was buying a new convertible in that price range it would be a Z4 HS, although I am sure the auto is great as well. Of course at pretty much any price range now, there are only one or two options left…

@AutoNinjas has them down south at 8% off. Just ran a calc on a base GT - looks like 39/10,5 you’d be at right around $475 with inceptions

That’s not bad.

Is that the Convertible V8 ? or base as in 4 cylinder ?

I already have 2 SUVs in my driveway adding a Hummer would take space of 2 cars not one lol. Those things look great on the highway.

Unfortunately… I wont fit lollllll

Oh man. The last of the Z4s right now… I think production has ended already.

Mini convertible not that anyone wants it

Yeah it’s a monster and actually drives very good. I took it to Tampa a few weeks ago and used super cruise most of the way. If you can still get them cheap I would dump one of your SUVs then you have a vert as well! I didn’t think I would like the Hummer as much as I do. If I’m driving more than an hour I take that over my 911 vert as that thing hurts my back. Becoming an old man!

$30k at lease end. I only have about 12k miles on it in 2 years so will probably be under 20k miles easy. Will be out of warranty based on time which Im guessing on a Camaro may not be crazy risk compared to German cars. And definitely deal with Indy mechanics cause Chevy dealer atmosphere by me is insane.

It’s gotta be worth more like 35-37 right?

I loved my ND Miata before we had kids, best manual shifter/clutch combo I have ever had. I barely fit in it at 6 feet tall though…

Base GT, GT meaning V8 lol. Not sure whether convertible or coupe though

Edit: pretty sure its a vert
