Long-time Tesla skeptic here. After seriously considering the BMW iX, Audi Q6 e-tron, and Mercedes GLC 350e, I ended up leasing a 2026 Model Y mainly for the FSD and Tesla’s charging infrastructure. I’ve now driven ~1,000 miles, and it’s been a mixed bag—but not without some genuine highlights.
What I’ve Liked So Far:
- FSD: Still far from genuine autonomy, but undeniably impressive on long drives.
- Software: Snappy UI, OTA updates, and great integration with phone/app.
- Interior Space: Roomier and more versatile than I expected, especially in the back.
What Could Be Better:
- Road Noise: Louder than competitors.
- Driving Feel: Lacks the refinement and feedback you’d get from a German luxury car.
- Interior Materials: Feels minimal, but not premium.
- Elon: Well, enough said…
