I left out some details that were OT for this thread, but apparently I already had President’s Circle from another source.
I cut loose the VentureX a long time ago (worst “premium” “travel” card I’ve ever had), but maybe they forgot to cut me off. (Amex didn’t cut off my Hilton Diamond status for something like 3 years after I canceled the card that conferred the benefit).
My understanding is that the main benefit of the Intel version is better battery life. Is there some other compelling reason to spend the premium? On a percentage basis, it’s quite a bit more money.
This laptop doesn’t / won’t travel anywhere, it just sits on my desk at home… and it’s virtually always plugged in.
I don’t have a Biz Plat, and I’m pretty set on the Yoga, as I’m really happy with the current one.
The only reason I’m replacing the current Yoga is that Windows 10 support ends in October, and the current machine doesn’t meet the minimum requirements for 11.
I just go for the best in terms of processor and everything else is negotiable. But AMD should be fine too.
You may have done it already, but check if your Lenovo may still meet the requirements. If the hardware does, then you may just need to change some things in the BIOS. https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht512623-lenovo-devices-supported-for-windows-11
Canceled at 1 year, with no actual benefits found or utilized. Thankfully the first year was comped.
We could have saved some money on airfare (Qantas) for a trip we’re planning for the fall, but we couldn’t get enough firm plans together before the membership expired.
When I canceled I got an immediate offer to keep the account active for $195 (instead of $395) for the next 12 months, so I’m assuming that the email offers to rejoin at a similar discount will start arriving at some point. If not, oh well.
Absolutely. The offers come religiously and vary every month, but every once in a while (maybe once a year) they offer it for $99, which is the lowest I’ve seen. Even those I haven’t jumped on. I had it for $295 a year for several years many years ago and I used to get at least that much out of it, but it lost its luster for me pre-pandemic.
Overall still happy with this card for what I use it for — primary rental car insurance and travel expenses that aren’t bonused by another card. I’ve had good luck with point redemptions EXCEPT in November I used points for a gift card instead, and this is my second call to CapOne to either get it reissued or (my pref) return the points.
