What is the algorithm in the calculator for MSD? Each MSD take ?% off the MF?

Does the formula change with each make?

It changes a bit; e.g. with BMW and MB the MF is reduced by .00007 per MSD and with Toyota it’s .00008

Do non-luxury brands typically do MSDs?

You can look at the LH Calculator. Any brand that enables MSD has an option for such in the Calculator.
