Ford Maverick or F150 Lightning

Does anyone know if Ford has any more lease deals or purchase specials for their Maverick hybrid for f150 lightning? I am purchasing a house that has some ford “charger/home inverter” and the seller said its compatible with these trucks.

It looks like I missed Ford EV lease specials a few months ago? Thanks.

Lightning deals were still strong last I checked

You at least have a Ford Charge Station Pro (80 amp), which could charge any EV (with the right adapter) and you probably have the full Ford Home Backup Power setup, with the additional Sunrun home integration system. This allows for bidirectional power but only works with the Ford Lightning and best with the Flash, Lariat or Platinum (ER battery). FWIW this is a very expensive system ($20K+).

Nothing for Maverick (Unless you count Additional Mark Up)

Lots for the Lightning the XLT is under $400

Not really any great deals on the Lightning like there were. We’ve been looking. Lowest I could find was $400’s for the xlt

Thank you all! I will check out the Lightning XLTs. thats a pretty sweet deal.

Thank you! Yes I believe it is this system you link here. That is a pretty sweet item. Im not sure why he said it may work with the Maverick.

If it is the full HIS (whole home backup generator) it will be useless with a XLT lightning. You would need a extended range like mentioned above. If its only the charger than you can charge any EV (speed will vary on model and connected amps) XLT have great lease deals, they just wont provide baxkup power IF thats what the house has (very few people actual have that full system)

Ford Maverick comes in gas and hybrid, no plug in options. So sounds like they were blowing smoke.

Good luck on the house purchase

It has a PHEV, just not in the US

It sounds like it. Thank you! Yes it is a whole system where they say they can power the house from the truck if the grid goes down. It’s not too easy to find info on this though. I’ll keep digging!

TBH that’s a “flex” that’s useless in real life. Generate power if the grid is down or drive to a hotel using the KwH inside your vehicle’s battery.

The idea that I’d draw down a BEV’s battery during an emergency to keep the house lights on while potentially marrooning myself and being unable to evacuate, IDK if they thought that through

Modern LED lights could run all day for 25+ days on a Ford ER battery pack. Lights aren’t really much of a draw. OTOH, keeping well pumps, sump pumps and heaters going could prevent damage to your house. Driving away is like giving up.

That said, it’s really meant to be paired with solar. You draw on the BEV at night and then recharge it during the day. I just can’t justify the costs, given the pro power option already gives you a 240v output which you can backfeed into your panel.

Thanks all for your comments. Yeah I was also thinking a plug in hybrid would do a better job because I can maybe store some gasoline and use the engine. It’s almost like a portable generator at that point.

But the maverick is just a hybrid I guess, no plug in. I would also probably just get a generator of some sort so I don’t use up all my car battery. I guess it also helps to have an ICE and reserve the EV for power too.

Definitely thinking of adding solar to the roof too.
