I was going to pursue a lower down - targeting 3k down total and 300s payment.
Is that for a XLT? Because Tax and License is roughly $1600 so that’s $501 effective?

Yes but if anyone knows what makes the magical vins have the extra cash on them they are keeping it very quiet.
Also don’t know how to verify it since a dealer will never admit it, so unless you go in and make them show you the smart Vincent screen you just have to take their word.
I approached a few dealerships and chose the oldest VIN’s on the lot to see if it was an aged inventory and didn’t find any, but can’t be sure if it wasn’t just the dealers holding back as well.
From what I’ve been able to gather, VIN specific discount are trucks and Mustangs that were on the lot before the $5400 price drop in April 2024. So even if you find one, it just brings it in line with models that were priced after the drop.
